Besides, bridges are for talented but emotionally disturbed musicians. Holes are for foul beings that crawled out of the Earth to cast a dark light on the internet. This guy is the latter.

To be clear I never had an issue with the scene post-EC. It was pre-EC that I had an issue with. I didn't follow the forums for awhile when it got really bad after the game's release so there's been stuff I missed chief among those the apology it seems. Going by what I knew to be said before release it was my opinion at the time that the scene was nothing more than a bonus scene at the end of a movie's credits. It's there to see if you sit through the credits, or in this case  play mp, but imo wasn't  part of the feature.

Project lead can anything they want, but it does me no good if I don't have access to something while playing the game in a way I was told I could.

Bioware is likely to ever make a definitive statement about it because presenting something ambiguous and putting the onus on players to interpret that is easier than making a definitive ending which may alienate more players.

They fuced up so hard the first time they've decided not to try

I don't "need to turn" to anything, since the best evidence in-game or otherwise backs up my view. But it sure is nice that the most plausible meta-game evidence points clearly to him being alive, to be sure.

Look, I get what's going on here. People wanting a reunion scene try to downplay and obscure the meaning of the Breath scene in an effort to convince BioWare to do more. It's transparent and therefore unnecessary, especially because wanting the catharsis of seeing your crew find Shepard is completely understandable. But wanting catharsis and wanting "proof he's alive" or whatever are two separate arguments, the latter being kind of ridiculous since there is no "proof" that anyone lives in any story past what is shown or told.

Just for clarity on the catharsis argument: I would love a reunion scene. I'm only skeptical of the need to assert that the breath scene doesn't prove he's alive. It's a cover and I don't think people need it.

As I said, I find Destroy to be the best - and most natural - ending too, and I don't feel morally broken.  

Synthesis and Control would have felt like failing, like accepting everything you fought against in the games before.
To me, Control feels like buying into the Illusive Man - and who is to say that the reapers will be nice for good? Synthesis feels like buying into the Reapers themselves, and I doubt that too many would be happy about being turned into some kind of cyborgs, with very uncertain effects. Sacrificing the geth just didn't feel that bad in comparison... and I am too lazy to think about the morality of exterminating synthetic life right now.

The worst possible way to end any sort of game, show, movie, book or whatever is an ambiguous/speculative ending.  It's a great element to put into a plot during the course of the story but not the absolute finale.  The problem is that without a continuation of the story, the fan is left confused instead of an interest in what the plot twist meant.  A perfect example is the final scene of the last episode of The Sopranos.  The breath scene was a big mistake in a game full of them.

that's not true at all, and is merely your opinion.

Plenty of games, shows, movies and books have done it and have been successful. Just because you prefer not to speculate, doesn't mean its bad.


Besides, if we're talking about the Destroy ending/breathe scene.....there isnt much to "speculate" other than what your Shepard is going to do with the rest of his/her life. That's something only you the player knows.
