Did BioWare ever actually say that the breath scene was just an "Easter egg"?

I got charged $80 and was then told to imagine my own happy ending. This is not acceptable.

So, you were specifically paying $80 for a happy ending?

I think you're in the wrong place, bub.

I'll feed the troll. Yes, I was. Why shouldn't I have thought that would be one of the possible endings? 1 & 2 both had them, so I thought 3 having one was guaranteed with all the right decisions made throughout the trilogy. The Normandy crashing in the original ME3 ending pissed me off big time. I thought that I would hang around because I knew a lot of players wanted more closure and BioWare promised this would be coming in the EC. I'm still waiting for the high-EMS Destroy closure. Maybe they just forgot. Or something. Some ambiguous breath scene was bull**** and deliberately leaving it in was inexcusable.

I don't necessarily believe everyone meant the yub-yub medal ceremony happy ending.

But I do believe having the ability to truly see our decisions over the course of the Series pay off in the end, and it's not hard to think that there would be an ending where Shepard would live and be with his or her LI.

I certainly played the trilogy with that idea in mind. I never intended for Shepard to die in the end.

I intended to:

1) Kill the Reapers

2) Have enough of a galaxy left that it was worth the cost

3) Have Shepard survive to be reunited with Miranda and the Normandy.

And that's what I intended from day 1.

What i don't get is Hale and Meer get to do the control ending EC.
But if Shepard lives in the destroy ending we don't get hear shepard?

Yes, he lives.
The "interpretation excuse" just doesn't hold up.
Why put in a last breath scene anyway, what would be the point.
The Normandy memorial scene should be enough in case he was death.

This could have been fixed in a easy way.
Just let Shepard do his final speech while he and his (remaining) crew look through a window (on a ship or space station, doesn't matter) .
Or somthing else in this way.
I don't need to see Shepards kids or stuff like that.

I just want to see that he/she knows he/she succeeded.

During that time between the original endings and EC, I put forth the idea of an ending for Destroy could be

If Shepard died, Hackett giving a speech at Shepard's funeral
If Shepard lived, Shep would be giving a similar speech at Anderson's funeral.

Sadly, Bioware chose not to give any closure at all in that route.  But fortunately MEHEM actually provides something like I envisioned.

All I can say is there's so much wrong with the ECs it blows my mind. But really, the first thing wrong with the ECs are they try to explain the nonsense logic that was behind the ending(s), rather than actually fix them. It really shouldn't be shocking why the EC is such a gigantic failure. It rides off into the sunset as the biggest excuse for bad work I have seen.

I'm more of fan of the ascended one's old name, but I was pleased by the comment.

It's a cop out. They didnt want to say "Shepard is alive" even though he clearly is. So they came up with a scene that some people have determined is Shepard breathing in and dying?

if that is true they initiated that scene horribly, it should of been really fast breathing then getting slower and slower until eventually nothing, but if it was shepard breathing why show it at all if he/she is just going to die....... in each ending you know he dies execpt destory and thats why there argument that its his last breath just doesnt add up.

To be blunt, I don't care if they did have a problem with it, and I don't care how "non-canon" it is, the reason for this you ask?

this is why... And I'm okay with that.

not my point, all I am saying is that the MEHEM DOES NOT really not modify the ending, it just gives a visualization of what you are allowed to decide happens. Seriously Jade....you can be happy without compromise with it

Seriously Crimzon, please don't tell me what I can and can't be happy with. I've tried for almost a year now... If it was ever going to happen it would have.

@Dreamgazer, I don't. I love the rest of it, if I didn't think it was salvagable I wouldn't be here.

it happened to me only weeks ago...so there still s hope

Crimzon, no.. People are different, if there's one thing I know, for a fact, is that I will never be able to accept the breath scene, nor do I want to. It's disgusting. I refuse or I mehem, those are my only options.

@Dreamgazer, I know MS was just so much more epic.. Biotic God? Guess he went from ME1 to ME3 in terms of originality, oh snap.

Well, that's a tricky question. I haven't played it straight up in a game yet.. But when I saw it on youtube for the first time I cried.. So I think it might make me pretty damn happier.

Biotic God was an ME2 reference...

I don't see how either names are original. They're straight from the games.

I know, Niftu Cal.. but ME3 destroyed the beauty of that scene imo. Niftu Cal was the closest a volus could get to a biotic, which made him epic! Now he's just a junkie...

How did ME3 destroy it? It was never brought up as a cameo in that game.

Probably because of the bowling balls rolling around in multiplayer.

The MP volus are just clones made by Okeer for Jedore's army.

Niftu Cal is perfect.
