Hi.

Do I need to be logged in to the same account a game is registered on to be able purchase and instal dlc for that game?

My Mass Effect 3 game is registered on Origin under a different account but I have some bioware points left over from buying Mass Effect 2 dlc on this account.

See if ea can do an account merge

When I go to the purchase screen and select a ME3, it asks me to type in my Origin user name and it would seem that it will allow me to download the content. I'm just a bit wary of doing this as they are registered with different email addresses. Merging accounts is an option but I'm trying to find out if this is actually required.

Best you can do is asking EA support to move your Bioware points. Will take you a while though until you get to the right person with Live Chat.
