I'm not sure where to post this so I hope it is in the right section. Is it possible to make a party member from some of the races in DAO. For example the friendly treeant in the forest, the oak. Say after you complete a special quest for his race then maybe one could join your party or have him pledge his help in the end battle, then have several at that battle.

I don't know how to do it myself, but I would assume it's possible considering, that while browsing mods on dragonagenexus.com, I came across a mod that allowed an Alpha Hurlock to be selectable from the party screen.

It is certainly possible (I have a giant spider companion in my next module 
). Ideally if they're not humanoids you'd want to provide a unique class (and possibly unique consumables/equipment), which is a bit of work but very much doable.
