68 Levels later with my female Skyrim character and I can't say anything beyond the fact that being female seems to make more sense based on her kit of skills. Sometimes a female character just makes for better flavor and therefore a better experience.

I also have a few repeated "characters", some female and some male.

Pretty much any Paladin type character is a human male with a glorious beard named Harken, named after my World of Warcraft Paladin(who is in fact named after a Fire Emblem character).

My longest running character (elder scrolls, dungeons and dragons, et al) is a female archer/caster named Celia. For all the beefcake sword & board character's it's Gideon.

Because Sheploo looks like a model posterboy? I just cant stand Sheploo, and while Im not the biggest fan of default ME3 femshep, she's a lot better then Sheploo.

Why would I want to wear a banner with Dutch model in it? Only because I'm a man too? Don't see why. It's not me anyway so why not pick femShep instead. I'm not too fond of the guy and my Shepard is custom female and she has nothing to do with me, I enjoy her story and I'm way more attached to her than Sheploo. I could wear femShep banner no problem. If OP loves Sheploo's face more, just wear it then.

Because i can and frankly i've never liked Sheploo from the start. Mark Meer is great but Sheploo isn't to me. I just pick what i think look the best and that's really it. Gender is really irrelevant to me, just because i'm a guy doesn't mean i can't pick a banner that has a female on it. I just love a woman that is capable of severly kicking my ass

Because I played with femShep.

And I played with femShep because, even if I recognize and appreciate Mark Meer's talents, I feel that Jennifer Hale's VA is superior in every way. So, to me, Commander Shepard is a woman.

And that is all there is to it.

Heh - changing the BSN bg to femshep was probably one of the first things I did after getting into ME... so long ago that I'd forgotten I'd done it. Only just noticed again really because you pointed it out... sort of "oh yeah, there she is".

I played the Mass Effect series primarly as FemShep, because I preferred her voice acting to the MaleShep.

As such, I tend to think of my Shepard as being Femshep. Assuming I ever got the BotB banner, I'd wear that one because it fits in with the character I think of as Shepard.

Also redheads.
