I'm human, yet oddly I enjoy playing as Turians, Quarians, Batarians, Krogans, Asari, Geth and Volus.
In other words, that which is different is intriguing to me. That, and the idea of a squat Volus or lithe Asari running around with "thatonebigdude" over their heads is hilarious to me.

Plus, I'm not totally down with the new picture of her.  The default femshep from ME1 and ME2 was way better.  That picture of her looks weird.  Just my opinion.

Video games are already a matter of fantasy and escapism. I feel no more obliged to role play or self represent in games as male than as white or Canadian / American.

As for the Meer/ Hale comparison, I think that was only valid in ME1. He's improved markedly,

I'd never thought there would be a problem.

I'm not a sexist, I appreciate both Sheps and admire females and males. I mostly play MP with female characters, in SP I like MaleShep.

Choosing a different avatar for games say like ME3 or Skyrim can give you a new perspective of how it is to be of the another sex without you having to go get some surgery done. It's really up to the player, I appreciate anything BioWare does to make the community happier.

I'd rather have my cute asian femshep than that default femshep who went through cosmetic surgery three different times, considering both are just as cannon.

Well there are both men and women who play as opposite genders, I don't see anything wrong with rocking a banner for an opposite gender.

It's a banner. It doesn't represent me, it represents my love of the game. I love femshep, but I have more maleshep characters. Yet the femshep banner is different and reps what I love most, Jennifer's voice acting. Male or female doesn't matter to me. Currently I have the SMG mastery cause that's what I love in me3 at this point.

Also, also don't have the BotB and may never get it.
