I'm pretty pumped for HDDR5. I wonder if GameStop is going to sell the Xbox at all, and what they are going to do to restructure. It'll be interesting to see.

On the bright side, barring any surprise exciting exclusives, I can hold off on making the decision to purchase the new X-box until I see what the new Halo looks like. That exclusive is pretty much the only reason why I still roll 360 at this point, now that Bioware games have come to Sony.

Wellp, fuk me sideways. I sense bois and girls of Sony are busy high fiving pretty hard. This is so invasive and violating I frankly feel pretty invaded around my nether regions..and I don't have any intention of buying any next gen consoles. 

However, Microsoft just might win US market anyway simply thanks to " buy amurikan" faction.*  I'd like to think nobody who actually  feels video games and gaming is a fun, cool relevant and important  hobby ends up with Xbox.. Ultimately such group is prolly a minority among those buying consoles so as insulting as this is to consumer, it might also prove an awesome move.

Best case scenario; Sony sees a PR battle to win here and introduces small pile of " We are friends of consumers!!" types of features and services to PS4  just to look less Satanic than MS.


*Just like Sony wins Japan even if PS4 is just a machine kicking you in nuts and Xbox the best thing since sliced bread.

But really IGN isn't much of a source, qouting a source.

So why would you listen to IGN, given thats what it is?


As a edit, I don't doubt MS will do something I don't like, but not this far. But reguardless I'm switching to PC soon, mainly as I can't affoard two gaming systems any longer, and I want to work on a couple of indie game titles with some friends. PC is the best way to do this.

Microsoft puts out a console that blocks used game sales and requires invasive DRM... leaves only PS4 to be the contender in console market... more people move to PC due to lack of console variety... Microsoft sells more copies of Windows of people upgrading their PCs more regularly...?

I'd put it down to the fact that the OP repeatedly changes the thread title to declare it as confirmed and the article showing that it's not confirmed is hidden away on page 9.

looks like im getting ps4 if they do they same i'll be returning to pc gaming i'm not keeping a sh** load of games im not going to be playing ne more, what gives them the right to put thousands of poeple in the pre-own business out of their jobs. peoples lives are going to be getting really bad because this. and whats to say that if games wern't avialible pre owned would they have gotten it new? i wouldn't have!

Yeah I'm going to wait a few months for any potential hardware issues and give Sony a chance to work out any kinks. Plus by then there will be some games to play and probably even more on the horizon. Hoping Dark Souls II might find its way onto PS4, even if it isn't a 100% fully next-gen title.

Too be fair, the Wii-U is basically a PS3/Xbox 360.  

Pretty sure Wii-U is superior to PS3 and XBOX 360.


Besides in lacking 3rd party support on vide games compared to them as of yet, but it's improving while Wii failed at that.

Personally, given that these rumors started for the PS4 before they started for Durango, including a patent filed by Sony for the blocking of used games (which is the hardest evidence seen for anything of this type for either console), I'm chuckling inwardly at the Sony fanbois. If it ever actually is confirmed that one is doing this, you can expect that the other will as well. Do you think they're going to risk losing publisher business and the chance at exclusives? Because that's exactly what always-online and blocking of used games is, a sop to publishers.

Surely buy amurikan faction only exists in USA. T'was implication of patriotic/national determination to support local branch over international ones.

....Buuut since we touched the subject,
I'm eternally puzzled about  how on earth 360  managed to do so well when compared to PS4. Latter was very good, highly afforable Blue-Ray player back when the technology was heavily trending. Actual Blue Ray players were onyl marginally cheaper than PS4. This was the case for..what, nearly 6 months.  Would have guessed that alone is enough to make masses move from Xbox to PS in pretty much global fashion. Tis beyond  puzzling.  Considering how devving games for PS3 is apparently a terrifying task t'was fortunate it didn't go like this.

Thats true, though the PS4 has had its own share of rumors. I doubt the next Xbox will actually pursue allot of these features. I think it takes away to much freedom from Devs. And after the whole Sim City thing they have to be asking themselves if they really want to risk having issues like that with every game, different systems sure but the potential for similar problems would be there. Even if they do release with these features I don't see how that'll effect me too much.
