at the risk of sounding uninformed, is this the "DICE" as in the battlefield 3 creators?

because if it is, forget metacritic!
This is a huge conflict of interest

Yes, DICE is the BF3 creators

Actually, re-read you. The OP is vague, no one knows if this is the BF3 DICE or some other DICE.

not sure what it stands for but basically they call it the "oscars" of gaming where peers give out awards to each other

I gotta say it... but lets be honest.. 2012 was a crappy year for gaming. ME3 won the majority of its awards not because it was amazing but because everything else was just worse.

Congratulations, folks.
Now you may get drunk for one evening, and then resume working* on the next game. I command.

You're absolutely right. Far Cry 3, Dishonored, Journey, The Walking Dead, Assassin's Creed 3, XCOM, Halo 4, Sleeping Dongs, Kingdoms of Amalur, Borderlands 2, Spec Ops, Diablo 3 and of course Mass Effect 3... all are absolutely and utterly terrible.

Oh wait...

The lengths some people go to get in just another stab at ME3 is astounding. :pinched: If you hate it so much, why are you even here?

Anyways, congrats BioWare and I'm really looking forward to the new SP and MP DLCs!:)

And Mr. Gamble, shouldn't you be in bed by now?;)

ME3 had some great games as it's peers.

Google is not that hard.  D.I.C.E. is not DICE, makers of Battlefield and EA subsidiary.  It's an industry award given by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

Thereafter, in 1996, AIAS was re-established is a non-profit organization that promotes computer and video game entertainment with the annual D.I.C.E. Summit event, where its Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony has been held annually since 1998. Its membership consists of industry professionals, and only professional members who meet a set of minimum criteria are able to vote for the best entertainment software of the year.

2012 a crappy year for gaming ... because everything was worse than ME3... top of my head, Hallo 4, Far Cry 3, AC3, Xcom, TWD, TW2 (Xbox), Borderlands 2, Dishonored etc

I wish for 2013 to be as crappy as that.

Yeah, people tend not to be fair because they didn't like the game or it's ending. Yet, a subjective opinion shouldn't be enough to say a game is crap.

All the awards ME3 won were well deserved.

You can see all the finalists here.

Mass 3 was up against Dust: An Elysian Tale, Diablo III, Torchlight 2 and Guild Wars 2.

Those who choose the path of hatred are naturally going to hate.

Considering who BioWare's ME team were up against, I'd hardly consider it unjust for them to be awarded RPG of the Year. While Mass Effect 3 is by no means "Perfect in every way, and setting precedence for years to come", it's still one of the top of the year.

So there.

subject will be the highlighted bit
I am a little confused, is this a deep concept, this is probably the shallowest view of the extremely complex emotion known as hate.

How is it different some one "who chooses the path of love are naturally going to love" or "chooses the path of diarreha is naturally going to have diarreha".
someone is going to hate will hate (thats the basic concept) but the dismissive attitude as if its unavoidable (or if there is no justified reason behind it) is what makes this situation so fustrating.
