I started a new playthrough with a ME2 playthrough that I just completed ( I did not use the med bay upgrade), and am slightly past the Palaven mission. I have absolutely no renegade scarring whatsoever. I thought for sure that on my last playthrough I started getting scars earlier, and was curious if anyone remembers about what point in the game they start appearing because I'm afraid my character is bugged.
More info: I have chosen almost every renegade choice so far, and my renegade reputation bar is a bit past the first marker (looks to be about 20%).
Does anyone remember when scars started showing?

I thought that you got the scars at the beginning of ME2 if you were a renegade in Me1?

I think the scars start showing a bit after Palaven moon. I have done some DLC before that so might have speed it up, all this using a colonist survivor.
The background and past militay history affect the paragon renegade points. If you had a ruthless earthborn you collect renegade much faster, if have a warhero spacer is harder to collect renegade point, so the scars take more time to show. Maybe that the issue.
