Here are some examples.

• Stay your the trigger finger and let the batarian finish his heavy melee.
• Let the delivery boy pick the pizza back up after you revive him, even though it takes a little longer.
• Let the guy running with you grab the control point while you cover him.
• Prime explosions someone otherwise wouldn't be able to detonate.
• Forget about your epeen score and just spam Cryo Blast on everything.
• Medigel right away when someone goes down trying to revive you.

I carry my friends through Gold/Platinum games using whatever setup they want me to.

One of them suggested a Claymore Volus VanGOD, not realizing that I actually use that setup even when not joking around.

I get legitimately disappointed when these die by headshot and don't explode.

All of the above, plus things like covering them with my Paladin's shield. It's the little things that make someone a good/friendly player.

On that note, I get really happy when I see PUGs doing things like this.

Biotic charge people who are husk grabbed.
Stasis enemies who are about to stomp them out
Get Banshee grabbed so they can finish the objective.
Cover the person doing the hacks across the map
Go rambo on the opposite side of the map while the others are getting their butts kicked trying to do the pizza delivery together.

Generally I try to just be a good teammate but when it comes to extraction I go into overdrive. Everybody goes home safe. No exceptions.

Reviving a teammate is worth expending a rocket to clear the vicinity. So there's that.

Usually, if a pizza objective happens, I know it won't get dropped repeatedly unless I'm on a krogan. Then, they'll not only steal the package from my headbutting speed demon, but I will repeatedly revive them instead of taking the package and THEN reviving them like I wanted to do. So, instead of stealing the package and MRAAAGH'ing our way to victory, I just end up repeatedly reviving them as they repeatedly die.

cryo blasting husks/abominations when they grab teamates so they fall off
submission netting enemies when they're about to be grabbed over cover
overloading/energy draining enemies primed for BEs
using my shuriken to kill jack everything (best gun to do this with ever)
camping my demolisher teamate's pylon so they never have grenades or ammo
surround downed teamates and keep enemies from stomping them
.............................................................oh to help my team?............i need to think

Get out of the way when someone with a heavy weapon is lining up shots.
Shoot mooks that are about to surprise someone from behind.
Rocket bad situations.

Well, I stay away from them, don't revive them if they annoy me, I kite enemies to them when my position gets overrun, I don't gel until the last second, I conserve rockets in the hope that my team will use theirs instead, and I steal their kills from across the map with my Revenant.

But if a random impresses me enough with their skill or their playstyle for me to consider them a worthy or honorable players, I'll abandon everything I mentioned above and do everything I can to support them and keep them alive and well for the whole match, regardless of the cost to my own character.
