I was just making an NPC and I thought I might do something I've never done and use an NPC from the OC but with a different hairstyle. So I changed the appearance of a human in the basics tab to NPC Aldanon went over to the properties and opened up the hairstyle part and there they were about 100 different hairstyles !

I couldn't change Aldanon's hair which was the original plan and I've scrapped the idea now but does this mean that hiding in the toolset are loads more hairstyles ? If so how do we get at them ?

Even Safiya has number 28 and I thought she was a definite case of a 0.

Any ideas ?

hairstyle haks? There's only 30 or so stock. 28 is bald.

If you're open to using unofficial content, there are tons of hair haks on the Vault, most of them for girls (though you probably can do something like my avatar guy if you really, really feel like it).

Arkalezth.. I think that's a fine looking hairstyle you should see some of my PC's in Fallout the weirder the better's my motto !

kamal.. I haven't got any hairstyle haks installed so where are all these numbers coming from when you select the hairstyle box in the properties tab of some of the npc's ?

I just had a look in the data folders of this game and npc's have their own separate heads but I couldn't find the hair ! Perhaps it's already attatched but that doesn't explain the long list of numbers you are presented with when you select their hair in the properties tab unlike the usual 20ish options. I'll keep hunting around but I'm sure they're out there somewhere.

you can't find their hair because in most cases there simply is none. for example aldanon's hair and head are a single mesh. i know that gann and dove have their unique hair but those are exceptions.

without haks there are around 40-50 entries within the hair column, but not every single one points to a unique hair mesh. some are duplicated, and some are just placeholder lines.

Some of the creature blueprints suggest they have as many heads as human players do when you open the drop-down menu in the head number field - but they rarely have more than one head type in reality. I think the toolset gets confused in some instances.
