In this very thread, there was someone who posted a dev saying he thought it was ok, lemme find it.
Here, found it. Brenon Holmes seemed to suggest that its perfectly ok.

I don't know officially... I personally can't see it being a problem.
I'm pretty sure we shipped with Eyefinity/Surround support... which
spans FOV to goofy levels - so doing it on your own is probably fine. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]
Good enough for me.
Nice, thanks. How do I do it then? Could you point me to a guide or something please?
Blind2Society posted a video guide, but...
- Download ME3 coalesced utility
- Open coalesced.bin file in ME3 coalesced utility (from Mass effect 3 > BIOgame > cookedpcconsole > coalesced.bin)
- From the list inside the coalesced file, select "bioinput.ini" then "sfxgame" then "sfxgamemodebase" then click on "bindings = (multiple)
In the bindings section, the second line should read: ( Name="Shared_Aim"... etc
Change this line to....
( Name="Shared_Aim", Command="SwapWeaponIfEmpty | TightAim | FOV 0 | OnRelease FOV
100 | OnRelease StopTightAim" )
The bolded part is the FOV you want to use, you can have it at 75, 100, 90, w/e you want. This keeps the FOV for aiming the same, but changes it when not aiming. This also means, once you enter a game (FOV will be at 70 by default) all you have to do is right click (or aim) then release, and your FOV will automatically set to what you selected.
Also, you might want to bind other FOV commands, by adding...
(As a separate entry, at the bottom of the list of bindings)
( Name="NumPadOne", Command="FOV 70" ) Which will allow you to reset to the default FOV by pressing your 1 on your numpad, however, once you aim (or right mouse) and release, your FOV will go back to what it was set to in the shared aim line.
So I enter game at 70 FOV, right click and release and that sets it to 100 FOV. Then, I can press the numpad 1 key to set it back to 70, but using aim and releasing again will set it back to 100.
You can add as many of these commands as you like, but the top line ( your shared aim line) will overwrite any FOV you set once you release from tight aim.
