This topic has very possibly been posted many, many times, but there are many variations of the problem I think, so I might be unique. I had already made a character on Dragon Age: Origins, and I logged in when I was first prompted before the main screen. I then noticed on the options something about this site, and how you could see your character's stats here. I decided to register here, and I did so, however, when I would go to the My Content tab, it would say I had no "uploaded" characters. I waited a few days, and re-registered a few times, and still nothing. I have the "upload character" choice checked on the "Options" tab in the main screen, and I am logged in on the game, so I don't know what's wrong. Did I have to make a character with the pre-release Character Creator thing? Or am I missing something? Thanks for any responses.

Go to Profile -> Edit Profile Information. Is that e-mail address the same one as the one associated with your gamertag?

It was not. I have made a new account and will see if the game info appears in a few hours. Thank you!

Andaris, it seems a lot of people have indeed had problems similar to yours. My issue has been more the opposite: getting unwanted old characters removed from the site. I have never had any trouble getting a character to appear in my profile (although sometimes it does take a while for updates to occur). So I'm not sure I'll be able to offer advice that will be of any use to you, but I'll throw out a few ideas just in case.
First, I think you can rest assured that you needn't have used the Character Creator to upload a character. That should not have anything to do with whether your game uploads data or not.
But to get the obvious out of the way: Have you saved your games manually, or are you relying on the autosave function? The game doesn't upload data for autosaves, so if you're not saving manually, that could explain why.
You said you have enabled the option to upload character data in your options. Have you also enabled the option to send Bioware feedback about how you play the game? (I'm assuming this option also exists on the Xbox version, which I don't have.) I've gotten a vague impression that updates work better if this is enabled; but this could just be a figment of my imagination.
Could you check your profile diagnostics page? Go to your player profile page and click on the "Profile Diagnostics" button above your portrait on the left side of the page. If you see your character listed on the diagnostics page with a 1001 error, that could help explain why you're not seeing it on the profile page.
Another thing you might try is this: create a new character and see if it shows up. If that works, then it could be something to do with the fact that you made your character before creating your account. Though I doubt that is likely.
Here's a couple of links that may help:
There's a forum thread: Player profiles updating slowly
Also check under "Dragon Age Player Data" in the Frequently Asked Questions.
I apologize if I haven't offered any info that you haven't already found for yourself.

Now, this is going to sound idiotic, I'm sure- I can't find the profile diagnostics page. I looked around on my home page and looked around my character's photo, but did not see it anywhere. Would you mind telling me how to precisely get to the proper player profile page? I'm sorry for my stupidity, but- you know- I'm just kind of stupid.

From the menu at the left side this page, select My Games -> Dragon Age Origins Xbox 360.
This will display your Dragon Age player profile.
(This is different from the player profile displayed by the Profile -> Full Profile command.)
There should be a column of four buttons above your profile (stretchy King Cailan) on the left side of that page.
The third one, Profile Diagnostics, will display a diagnostics page listing the files your game has uploaded to the site.

He does not seem to have a persona page yet. I am guessing they are not created until data is uploaded.
When you did this, what did you do?Andaris R wrote...

I changed my e-mail to match the one I use on XBOX Live.

I'm trying to confirm that your BioWare account and your Xbox gamertag are indeed linked to the same EA account. That should be impossible to do simply by changing an e-mail address somewhere (the system will complain about the e-mail address already being in use). Therefore I need to know pretty specifically what you did. You made a new (BioWare) account -- which option did you choose (existing EA account, existing DA account, something else?)?

I think I chose an existing DA account, although I am not sure, unfortunately. I thought I had made a brand new Bioware account in general with the new e-mail. Sorry! I will try to check.

Last I checked the options were PSN; 360 gamertag; DA account; EA account; old BioWare account; and brand new account. The latter for sure creates a new EA account, and this is the mistake most people make. It is possible the first two options, if the ID is not already associated with an EA account, create a new EA account and associates the PSN/gamertag with it. DA and EA account both connect directly to an existing EA account, and are probably the most robust options.

I have just noticed while playing my game that, a little while after I start playing, that a box comes up either saying "You have timed out while attempting to access your online profile storage" or "There was an error accessing your online profile storage" or something like that. Is that related at all? Also,I think I chose Existing DA Account.

Well, it means it's at least trying; but you still don't have a persona page, I'm not sure if that would cause that error or if you don't have a persona page because of that error. Does it always happen?
#15
Posté 19 janvier 2010 - 12:59
Well, it switches between saying that it has timed out and that it has an error. I think that it does always say something, though. Or at least, almost all of the time, give or take about 3 times.

Is there any way you can confirm that your current Gamertag is linked to what you perceive to be your current EA account, like through a separate EA game?
Incidentally, your profile is supposed to list any Gamertags attached to your EA account, can you find that?

Where would I go to find out how many Gamertags are attached?

It's supposed to be listed somewhere on your profile, but also on the page for redeeming promo codes.

Posté 23 janvier 2010 - 07:39
I went to the page for redeeming the codes, and didn't see anything about other Gamertags. It only allowed me to switch profile or type in the code.

I think you need to check that your gamertag is listed as a persona at the EA site itself: https://profile.ea.com/myinfo.do
You should be able to log in to EA with your social site details.

Alright. I went to https://profile.ea.com/myinfo.do and signed in. However, when I tried to use a pre-existing XBOX Gamertag persona, it said it was already taken. I would think it was taken by ME, however, so I don't know why I can't use my own Gamertag. Any ideas?
#24
Posté 27 janvier 2010 - 06:31
Also, is there a way to just delete my accounts, and start from scratch? I wonder if maybe I need to just get rid of all my accounts to somehow free up the Gamertag.
#25
Posté 27 janvier 2010 - 06:38
I believe the fact that it is taken by you is indeed your problem. I'm guessing it is already linked to an EA account. I propose querying EA support.Andaris R wrote...

You can't "start over," as it were.
