That's ok, because Synthesis doesn't make her anymore alive, she already was.

That one's directed at me, I take it.shodiswe wrote...
I actualy think that EDI getting a "body" that could move around the ship and visit the citadel and evne go on missions was a good and interesting way to portraing AI's as being more than a server box.
People who dislike the idea of AI's and synthetic life will always dislike it.
As for the design, i'm fine with it. It might be a little bit over the top. But it's still not bad art, even as some people say oversexualized.
If EDI is fine with it then I'm fine with it.
this. i thought the whole EDI reveal thing was pretty cool in Me3. i did not expect it to happen to be honest as i hadn t spoiled myself. When EDI showed up i got into the scene.shodiswe wrote...

Which is an assertion based on the supposed incompatability of the the groups. Which we've shown to not always be the case with our interaction with EDI.Robosexual wrote...
Incorrect, he says the peace wont last, not that peace is impossible.
Exactly, why the action is redundant terms of character development and her characterizetion goes backwards. That's ok, because Synthesis doesn't make her anymore alive, she already was.
Not much difference, unless you're saying she doesn't consider herself to be alive before synthesis. If that's the case I doubt it.Eterna5 wrote...
She never says she's alive before Synthesis. She only says she feels alive due to Shepards influence.

Your injury part is irrelevant. The only people who stay with paralyzed people or people with diseases that makes physical interaction impossible are people who have memories of what they were like before. For example, A woman marries a man and from some event he becomes paralyzed from the neck down. She stays with him because she loves him.
Tell me, how many people are just dying to date paralyzed people on the basis of their personalities? You may not like it, but people first choose their mates based on their physical attributes. Such a thing as paralysis is a clear turn off.
As much as you don't like it the Hardware does matter, not as much as the character, but it does. Someone can have the greatest personality on earth, but you'll never approach them or think of them as a romantic interest unless you feel some form of physical attraction to them.

If that was true, she would be romanceable. Their is astory related reason for her looks. Added, the playerrelationship with her is more parent/child- teacher/student.Femlob wrote...

Yup. She was given the physique of a porn star so that desperate sixteen-year-olds would have something else to masturbate to. Nothing new under the sun; developers and publishers have been doing that since ****** were represented as triangles (see Lara Croft).

i didn't mind her having a body
but what is silly is EDI and Joker having a relationship
The first time he asked about that I was super tempted to tell him "no", but I ended up saying "go for it, bro" because I feel bad for Joker. Let's be honest - all advanced life in the galaxy is on the verge of becoming extinct and the poor guy is probably not gonna get laid beforehand. Meanwhile, I'm banging like every chick on the Normandy. That totally blows for him. So, sexbot for you Joker, have at it.
Right, because you squad andcrew are mindless slave to you. They do anythingyou tell them to no matter what.jkflipflopDAO wrote...

Williams!
Yes, sir!
Get up in Joker's cockpit and burp his worm.
Sir?
On the double soldier!
Problem solved.
What other character is like her in MEU when she hasthe EVA body? Even with the eva bodyshe still is unique compared to the meu.isnudo wrote...
Yeah, EDI was much more interesting as a disembodied AI for some reason. She was unique (in the MEverse I mean), different from any other lifeform, and there was some interesting character development to be had using that. But when she got that body, she just started being some robot fixated on being a 'real person' or not. It was the same with the Geth. They were interesting as they were, as soon as that talk of "true individuality" began, they lost all of their intrigue. Eh, it was just the simplest and, to be honest, dullest way EDI's character could have gone.
Furthermore, there are very few things I don't like design-wise in the MEverse. EDI's body is one of them. If they had to give her a robot body, did it have to be a sexy female robot body? It really is daft looking. Hell, it might have been funny if her robot body was 'male'.
