Sorry, they are based of the book Ender's game and the aliens movie series.
You have no idea how much this series borrow form other scifi stories.
In that they're giant alien bugs, perhaps. Beyond that they have little to no similarity (hell, the Formics and Xenomorphs have virtually no similarity to each other, let alone to the Rachni).
If you're going to say 'giant alien bugs' then they predate both Ender's Game and Aliens.
You're telling me that finding a giant self aware telepathic bug that is the last of it's kind found in ME is nothing like the fornics in enders' game, which story is that Ender a find a giant self aware telepathic bug that is the last of it's kind.
No, I'm telling you that that while the Formics and Rachni have some common elements, they're hardly 'exactly the same'. I don't recall the Rachni voluntarily avoiding invasions, for instance, nor do I recall the Formic Queen being found and bred to produce killing machines that went awry, or being manipulated into warfare by giant robots. There are similarities as such but to argue 'they're basically the same' is being silly.
Besides, one of the main points behind the Formics is that they didn't even realise they were fighting sentient creatures up until the second invasion, and as soon as they did, they pulled back and hoped humanity wouldn't retaliate. How does this in any way resemble the Rachni?
As I said, they're similar in the sense they're giant bugs and little else. Similar circumstances for the Queen, too, but hardly the same.
Sorry, but everything about the rachni is exactly the same as the fornics. Both races even go to war with other races without those races knowing why and had to be killed off to stop them.
I suggest you read Ender's Game again, as it sounds like you've missed one of the most important points of the book. The whole point of Ender's Game is that the formics
didn't have to be fought in the end.
