I just take the first syllable of the race and the first syllable of the class and slap them together. I got better things to do than come up with 70 names that no one will see but me.

I'm not good with coming up with names, so I most often use the variants of my nick. I have Loona the asari, Loonis the salarian, Loonus the turian, Urdnot Loon the krogan, Loony Krios the drell etc. The "smartest" of it all is Loyno Sep the volus - an actually volus-sounding name which is anagram of LOONY SPEctre.
Of course, there are exceptions. My Human Soldier is named BigGoddamnHero in memory of Robin Sachs.

For the female characters, I just pick names that I think are pretty. Though all of my Asari have names that start with A or E.

For the guys I have separate themes: I went biblical for the Phoenix characters, Peter and Paul
Most have names that were derived from Firefly, Star Trek, and UK Basketball.

A combination of the powers in the kit, the character personality (often as a joke) and the weapon/equipment of choice.

Nearly all of them are humorous in some way.

For example I name the drell vanguard "Flash Gordon" (because he's a miracle and he'll save every one of us!),
- the Slayer "Crunchy Nut" (because it's ludicrously tasty and he's a cereal-killer ),
- the kroguard Tyrannosaurus (because all the rest are a bunch of slack-jawed-*******),
- the volus are all named after banks/building societies (ie HSBC, Barclays...),
- one of the vorcha is named "Tricksy" (because he's like Gollum on steroids),
- the N7 Shadow "Smooth Criminal" (all the phantoms are named Annie ) etc... you get the idea.
- drell adept is the "Running Man" (he'll be back)
- asari adept is "Ground Control" (to Major Tom)

Some of the slightly less humorous ones are for example the Havoc - "Ice Breaker" because of cryo blast and HS combo.

I try to make them funny if I can help it. ;D

My Method is to imagine the character giving his information at the DMV. And just put down the first thing that comes to my mind. Some of my favs are my Krogard: Beef Stanwick. My Malke Human Vanguard: Hanz Manno, Female Human Vanguard: Hanna Manno, My Volus Adept: Big Damn.

Some Others: Bim Bennington, Kit Karla, A Hawmo, Cindy H, Ram Rodwell, Dillon Deeznuts, The Professore, Karl Tango, Vimcent, Gonzaolez, Britt Reemer, Admral Eggerz, Mimm.

I just open it up and go with it.

But it would be nice if the character name was shown in the Lobby. there are some folks with some great names, but we will nbever get to see it. So it woul dbe great to see names from other players!

For Krogan, something having to do with big reptilians, like Iguanadon. For Drell, Jesus INITIAL Lizard where INITIAL is the first letter of the Drell's class. So, if ME3 MP ever gets a class who's title begins with H and it has a Drell then I will name that Drell Jesus H Lizard.

For Vorcha, it's Arse(engineer), Arsen Son of Arse(sentinel), and Arson Son of Arsen(soldier, perhaps should be Arsol then). Or, maybe I'll use Arsenio someday.

For Asari Adepts, something having to do with their class or powers: Anastasia, Bubles McBlue, Asa Van Asa, Valery Valkery.

For Volus it's something having to do with spherical objects or money, like Bowling4Credits, Volare, or Volarry.

For Slayer it's Reign In Blood because that is the name of my favorite Slayer album.

If I don't set inspired then it's first few letters of race name followed by first few letters of class name unless it has a unique name such as Fury.

This is all subject to change.

Most of my Turian names are based on defensive strongholds, with a few letters swapped in/out: Baston (Havok), Ulwar (Sentinel) and Fortifus (Soldier). I always equated Garrus to Garrison, which gave me the idea.

My Destroyer, Paladin and Human Soldier are all named after my favorite Ravens players: Suggs (Destroyer), Rice (Paladin) and Lewis (Human Soldier). I might need to retire the latter, of course. Considering Kruger or Reed for the role.

I have a number of characters whose names reference jokes within my gaming social circle.
Vorcha: Break Fans (Sentinel), Dapper Vorcha (Engineer) and KILL THEM (Soldier).
Drell: Not Thane (Vanguard), Sort of Thane (Adept) and Thane (Infiltrator).
Geth: Unit Twelve (Soldier), Tost Machn (Infiltrator) and Geth Engie #12.
Volus: Keerik (Vanguard) and Bolin Bal (Sentinel).

My other Volus characters are based on those heroic forum posters who informed me that I was a "moron" or otherwise incompetent and/or gullible for believing that the Volus kits were real. I would post their names, but I think it'd be best not to. They were easily the most vocal, though, so they probably know who they are. I felt I should dedicate my Volus Adept and Engineer to them.

My Krogan Vanguard is Urdnot Clarke. Took one look at the helmet and knew it was meant to be.

Everyone else has typical names with little to no noteworthy backstory. A few of them include Eliot (N7 Demolisher), Oracle (N7 Fury), Nolus (N7 Slayer), Vex (N7 Infiltrator), Saul (Salarian Infiltrator) and Lance (Phoenix Adept).

I just consider my multiplayer characters  OC's, so I give then different names depending on their races. In the case of humans I try to be multicultural.

I try to come up with names that would fit within the universe, though some don't, like my Krogan Sentinel, Val.

All my Krogans share the clan name Characo, and all my Quarians have ship names based on what I'd name ships if I had one (vas Red Sky by Morning is my favorite out of them XD).

The only one with a name with no thought put into it what so ever was my Drell Inf; Poo... ... ... I named him in a rush XD And it was late for me, lol...

I've named most of them either after ME characters ie. TGI is Archangel, Human vanguard is Jack, Human Sentinel is Kaidan, etc. or after their class-my Destroyer's name is T5-V Battlesuit, and my Batarian Brawl is named Brawl (not after the Transformer, but its a cool coincidence.)

At first, i named a few. Slick & Turbo for drell, slim for Turians, etc. also used some old RPG char names from back in the day, like "Elghinn Ulu Jal". But now my lazy buttock just slams my fat fingers upon my keyboard a few times, and done.

Hm. I have to read this when I'm nowhere near my computer.

Offhand, I've named various kits after characters from Schlock Mercenary (my Kroguard is Schlock, since he's faster than he looks) and my Quarians are named after Firefly characters. I'll have to see if I remember this thread when I get home to look up more names.

I normally name some of them after characters in the games. All my batarians have names like Sgt Cathka, Ballik and Sallki, the other is called derpy cause there are no other batarians I can think of. VolGuard is now called Betsy and he's pink just cause.

I try to name characters to amuse myself.  That said most are referential.
My destroyer is named Conan (this name will be co-opted if a kit is ever called "barbarian").
My human male engineer is named Feynman.
My Asari adept is named Azure (I am not proud).
My demolisher is named Minderbinder (Catch-22 reference).
My Geth Soldier is named ED209.
My Volus adept is named Niftu Cal.
One of my Batarians is named "Four Eyes".
And my Quarian Marksman is named "Mr. Shooty".
Yeah, that doesn't fit.

The ones I don't really care for (exept for challenges) use random text. It's a lot of names to come up with. Most I try have the names based on what kind of name they look like, or adjective to their powers (he looks like a Bob or Zapper) except more alienish. The asari more like asari sounding names. maybe like Allura or Fayla

If no one else sees them but me it's kind of meh. naming them is cool though, but I can understand why no one else can see them.

I use the name of their race and the name of their class. Ex: Turian Saboteur - Sabo'Tur and sometimes I just think of something random like PooPies which is the name of one of my Vorcha.

i named my destroyer "gordan ramsey" after the angry scottish cook.....

i named my phoenix adept "the Cadbury thief" (lash stealing my sweet, delicious kills)

and well, i have a long list of crazy and some unrepeatable names (since some may get offended)
