I never pictured Tali as a super model. Then again, I never pictured her as human, either.
You and me both. They could at least use the voice actors face.

That wouldn't have been a bad place to start. But I wanted her to look alien. That's why seeing her face in ME3 was a big deal to me. The question was always, what do the quarians actually look like? Well, it turns out they look almost identical to humans.Voodoo2015 wrote...

And that's canon. They can't take it back unless they want to do a huge retcon.
Yet, under that mask, Tali always looked like human to me. Aside the glowing eyes, it was possible to the the form of her nose most times, and it was similar to humans. That would mean a human face, and that's the case.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

Then what's the point of making her an alien at all? They could have made her completely human with a weak immune system and got the same result.davishepard wrote...

If Tali was human you wouldn't have insight on the Quarians, their war against the Geth, and many other things only possible because you have Tali and she is a Quarian.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

Stick an asari in the same helmet and, aside from not having glowing eyes, she'd look the same as a quarian in a helmet yet they look alien enough (at least for science fiction since I find it rather unlikely that any real aliens would look even that human). There was plenty of scope for making quarians look more alien whilst still keeping to them looking more human than the others (I think the codex said that somewhere before ME3 was even released). Even Spock looks more alien than the Tali photo. Very dissapointing.davishepard wrote...

This "looking like an alien" statement is interesting. Everything outside Earth, doesn't matter it's looks, would be alien. Superman was born in Krypton, planet wich everyone looked exactly like humans, and aside that, he will always be an alien in Earth.
They did make them look different from humans (I will not say alien, everyone non-human is alien for humans): not the same quantity of fingers, legs are different. The similarities, as the chest (and breast on female quarians) and the face were enough hinted at. Just take a look at what can be saw from Tali's face through the helmet. Anyone seriously expected she having an Predator mouth? Shepard didn't smile when he took Tali's mask out because she was beautiful?Reorte wrote...

I was talking entirely about the face, and I thought that it was obvious that I was talking about the face. Did you actually read my post, especially the point where if you stuck an asari in the same helmet you'd see the same nose, brow, and top lip yet they look alien enough for a science fiction game?davishepard wrote...

It's called tradition. People do things that are illogical simply because it was how their ancestors used to do things.Knottedredloc wrote...
Just doesn't seem right for someone who lives/desends from a race of people that lives a sealed suit to have all of that hair. Doesn't seem practical or logical...
There is plenty of room for hair growth in the suits, especially for female Quarians.Knottedredloc wrote...
Tradition has nothing to do with one hair being able to grow while constantly covered in an environmental suit. Forgetting for a moment the physical limits on trying to grow hair in an enviro suit it is still not logical for them to maintain a such affectations. I'm sure Quarians had traditions living on planet surfaces, sun bathing, and not wearing environmental suit buts it became illogical for them to keep up those traditions.

Are we also to believe that photography only became available to the galactic community after the Quarians started wearing suits? I guess you buy that one too huh?
