And you know this? How?Knottedredloc wrote...
No, Quarians are not in suit "100% of the time, but 95% of the time they are in the suits. That alone would stunt hair growth significantly.
I assume what is the most likely reason for why they have hair. Hair doesn't make sense to have if you spend time in a suit for that long, so it can be easily seen as they keep it for other reasons entirely. My assumption makes more sense than anything you could come up with. Also, you assume that growing hair is a Quarian tradition and that assumption is just silly as the photoshoped Tali bioware used to insult the players.
That is another faulty assumption on your part. No one says they don't have pictures or any other type of footage of Quarians. It's just not something everyone knows, or cares about, seeing as the Galaxy looks down to the Quarians in general. That's about as ridiculous as no one in the galaxy remembering how Quarians look after only 300 years.
I don't "buy" anything. I simply find the most accurate and reasonable answer that makes the most sense. Are we also to believe that photography only became available to the galactic community after the Quarians started wearing suits? I guess you buy that one too huh?

The Quarians could have been another race of humans.davishepard wrote...
If Tali was human you wouldn't have insight on the Quarians, their war against the Geth, and many other things only possible because you have Tali and she is a Quarian.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...
Then what's the point of making her an alien at all? They could have made her completely human with a weak immune system and got the same result.
So no, it wouldn't be the same result, you just oversimplifying.
...And the asari aren't? Really, they're just blue humans, yet no one complains about them.Han Shot First wrote...

HolodeckNo wait thats Star Treck!
The question isn't how, but who took the picture. I'm a little curious about that.

Right, so everyone but the people actually *playing* the game knew.Honestly, we have basically known that quarians look like humans since Mass Effect 1, since there was concept art for Tali (on the bonus content disc) that had the description of "human female face" right next to one of the pictures. Plus, in Ascension, we are given a brief description of the physical appearance of quarians.

Curious, was her photo patched or something? I seem to remember it being like this:

Stock photos are used all the time, whether it's in games, movies, etc., so I fail to see the issue with that. Plus, BioWare stated their reasoning for why the decided to do it this way, and I agree with them.AlexMBrennan wrote...

As for the asari, there's an obvious explanation - Bioware built up expections over the years, and utterly failed to deliver (cheaply photoshopped stock photo).

That's kinda the point: Instead of putting effort into something a lot of fans couldn't wait to see, maybe pay a proper 3-d artist for an unique model, they used a free stock photo and some trainee to photoshop it. These kind of pictures are used in a lot of independent games because you have every right to use them commercially without credit or payment.DinoSteve wrote...
Wonder did she get any money for Bioware using her pic?
I can't seriously believe that they think it is. The odd thing is that they don't simply admit that they ran out of time and ideas for it but instead try to portray it as a deliberate decision they put a lot of effort into. Coming clean about problems usually turns out better if it's clear that everyone will see straight through your excuses.Scorpion1O1 wrote...
IMHO the way they treated Tali's face (and other design decisions through out the game) are just unacceptable and isn't very professional in quality and it worries me that they think it is.

Their plan was to release ME2 and ME3 within a timetable to reach as many fans as possible(to make as much money as possible asap) They told EA they could deliver. Then they released the product that is ME3. It is exactly what they wanted to give their fan base. I seriously believe they feel as if they gave us a complete and of the highest quality product. We the fans are the ones whom disagree. As they never touched anything that was in the main disc release. They did add upon the ending with the EC. This was done to clarify the endings for the fans. It was not done to improve the product they released. As they feel the product they have released is of the highest quality.
Other companies have added to their main disc release content and have remained proud and stuck to their overall concept without comprising any of their views of the product they have made. As adding to the main content is not seen as the main content being a failure but rather just an improvement to quality of the original content.
