TBH - I'm always most impressed that Bryan Johnson posts here ... QA is probably one of the most under-appreciated, least "glamorous" jobs in the whole of software development... and one that cops some of the most flak when things aren't 100% perfect (which they never are). It's a brave QA peep that pops hit head over the parapet and yet he's one of the most active BioWare staffers on the forum.

So, hats off to that man.

*aside: I'm a code monkey and I understand the importance of, and appreciate, a good QA team - when you spend so much time, so close to the code, it's a little too easy to overlook those little scenarios that can make things go a bit "quirky" ... sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes to make you go "What? Really, someone would actually do that? ... but yeah, you're right that's not supposed to happen". *ahem*

Hell, there's a "Sysadmin appreciation day" now ... why not the same for QA?

Yeah thanks BW, I think you've done quite alot with ME3 above and beyond what I expected. Will be interesting to see what kind of online experience ME4 will have :D

Thanks for the specific call out, one could easily say that I am doing such things for selfish reasons. I have definetly gathered a certain degree of respectability as of late and connection building. I know that if I ever end up on another future live product I should have little problems having people identify problems quite quickly. Furthermore part of a QAs job is to be an advocate for the customer, so understanding the gripes of a fan I am able to consider avenues that I may have not fully appreciated before.

Yeah, but to be fair, I've worked with some people who really aren't prepared to go any extra distance whatsoever - they put in the hours, log off and call it quits.

They DON'T get involved in public forums (fora?), in their own time, to better do their job (or in code-monkey land, they don't spend any of their own time keeping their skills current or improving them)... it's the difference between someone who can do the job and someone who's good at it (e.g. they actually care about it)... just saying.

I <3 code monkey land, for me as a QA it is very stasifying to be able to run a build and point to the exact value that is wrong or the line of code that has a bug in it.

Yeah, never have I seen so good, friendly and generous developers that not only, please the fans with completely FREE DLC (!), but they also interact with fans and unlike some fans, you guys always keep it civil and friendly and you have no idea how much I appreciate your effort towards your fans and it shows in some parts of the community too (not all though).

You guys are a living example of how things should be done and the goal developers every should be and claims to be.

I support this thread. I have never before seen developers care so much and interact with the community so well. You guys are awesome. To be able to talk with you on the forums so openly is really great, but to even play the game itself with you is beyond amazing - I have no words. 10/10

I would also like to take a brief moment to thank the BioWare Developers for all of their hard work. Most of us greatly appreciate it. It's important for everyone to realize that no decision in the real world satisfies everyone. And our (the player-base) perspective is a bit different than the developers; especially when it comes to balance changes lol. In the end we need to understand that their ultimate goal is to make the game more enjoyable; not easier. I may shout vulgar words while playing challenging games, but I play them a hell of a lot longer than the easy ones I fly through and never touch again.

Thanks again BioWare, and curse you for adding a challenge system and making me play even more while I could be doing homework :P.

OP nailed it.

All the additional content is great and i love how we all complained about how the Turians can't dodge and then we got new Turians with jetpacks. It really shows how much they listen/read even if they're not posting all the time.

Agreed. BioWare is awesome. EA/BioWare I'm not so sure about yet, but no doubt these Canadians are great.

I concur, and I've said it on other threads. Honestly there's not many games I play regularly that aren't BioWare at this point. Every game has its faults, but you all seem to put more heart and soul into what you do than any developer I can think of. Thank you.

...Wait, am I indoctrinated now???

The MP has a lot of love from the hands of its makers, and I love it back. Image IPBMass Effect is a wonderful world that did what Star Trek could not do for me, have interesting alien races. Image IPB

I'd post an applauding gif but I don't want to be banned again for the same reason. :(

But you Devs have proved that you are THE BEST devs. You listen to the community and actively participate in conversations. So, thank you.

Agreed with the above appreciation, with special kudos to Brian. A receptive ear goes a long way in customer satisfaction, and the MP support here is great.
