I really enjoyed M1 and continued to M2 but was soon disappointed with the silly bypass minigames. I find it impossible to do in time. I tried all known trainers and none work and now am stuck and cant continue game because I cant recruit full team ... the Krogan is behind a door that has a bypass on it. I wish games would n't do this as now I've wasted money on a game I can't finish. I won't bother getting M3 if this is the case. Any suggestions.... I use PC with trackball mouse.

There are only two bypass mini-games.
The circuit board is simple: it is simply a memory-matching game.
1) Roll your cursor over one of the icons to see the symbol. Do not click yet.
2) Roll your cursor over the other icons to find the matching symbol.
3) When you find the matching symbols, click both icons..
NOTE: If you accidentally click an icon you did not mean to click, wait a few seconds and it will automatically deselect the icon.
4) Repeat the previous steps until all symbols are matched.
Since it is a circuit board, matching symbols will actually form a circuit; that is to say, matching symbols will be on opposite ends of a circuit wire.
mcsupersport provides a demonstration in this video.
The hacking mini-game is also simple. It involves clicking the same lines of code that is shown at the top of the screen. Click all three lines of matching code to win the game. Avoid the red-tiled lines of code. Note that with this game there are two blocks of code that have white and brown lines that look very similar. You can learn to tell them apart since one has a very long brown line of code (bottom half of the block) and the other does not.

They're easy, and i like them. Better than just pressing A and waiting for Shepard to wave her hand around for a bit with absolutely no player input at all.
Seriously BW, why did you think that was a good idea?

First off, OP, have you tried the bypass minigame with a regular mouse? I can appreciate trackballs for some tasks and my wife prefers them for work but I think an old $10 basic mouse might be better for ME games. A gaming mouse is probably best but I don't use one, just a mid price multi button job. Also, have you tried altering your mouse speed settings depending on if you're overshooting the terminals or taking too long to get there. Finally there's a cheat option for if all else fails - you could use the Gibbed Save Editor to give yourself the hack and bypass modules, which are upgrades you can buy in game to give yourself more time at the minigames.

Actually the bypass mini game can be a real PITA on the pc especially in certain parts of the game where that screen just lags for no reason. It is by far my least favorite part of ME2.
And no its not my system. I'm working with a new brand new comp/fresh install of the game and it still does it.
Best advice I can give is try what I do. Open the bypass and take a look at the arrangement. The if pins are spread out across the whole screen I close it and start over until I get them all closer toward the middle of the screen.
Most doors/items will let you try multiple times. I've never played on a game mode that limits them so I don't know if there even is one but this works in casual to normal modes.

Its only limited when you're doing them for cash or research. Doors and stuff don't have that limitation.

Really? Is this a joke?

I find the hacking and bypass a good change of pace. Much better than plain waiting. I always finish the bypass around half time remaining on the pc. There's also an upgrade to double the time if you're having trouble. Think it's in Omega.
Only dislike doing them 4x in a row in the span of 2 minutes though..

Well, it all depends on one's brain qualities to process and match information. Consider it a training for real life
.
I do those "hacking" almost instantly FAR before time runs out because routing pcb and reading other's programs is basically what I do for salary
.
I actually memorized that circuit pcb drawing when you need to "make connection": its basically the same, if you noticed, and for me it was easier than piece of cake
. After that solution is EXTREMELY easy... A little diversity in drawings wouldn't hurt...
I must say though, that in ME2 one of the hacking tasks(piecing code) seems more believable and likely than in ME1. Because LOGICAL tasks is what COMPUTER(hacking device) is actually doing BETTER than human(if that human properly programmed it
). So, hacking device needs from user something, what itself CANNOT do EFFECTIVELY. That, basically, leaves "pattern recognition" tasks -- like the one putting together pieces of code.
Some sort of "captcha" for ME3 hacking would be completely in place

Regular mouse, and I have no probs at all.
And IIRC, doors and stuff have AT LEAST 3 tries to it.

Change your mouse speed. It used to annoy the hell out of me too since I had to drag my mouse from one end of the mouse pad to the other.
