The council, commander bailey, matriarch aethyta, kolyat.

I mean these guys were hardly the most important characters, still it's kind of sad if they all died when the reapers took control of the citadel. Even if they didn't then surely they would have died if you pick the destroy ending.

The exact same question was answered here, I don't remember at what time exactly though (should be near the end though). Short version: No, it is very possible they survived.

Dev tweets say they did not die. Whether or not to believe those tweets ... that's your call.

The game doesn't actually show us very much of the Citadel, so there's no proof one way or another.

Sorry, just had to do this.

Well maybe the devs are just pulling your leg... They are alive its just that their minds doesn't belong to them at all.. Maybe the Reapers had a contingency plan to release the Citadel inhabitants to infiltrate the Victory Fleet along with Control and Synthesis Shepard. Maybe. Or maybe they were the reaperized forces that was fighting during Priority Earth. They were alive and you just went and killed them. That Husk that the guy was fighting in the endings was Baily. I'm calling it now.

Some are still alive, yes. But, if the vision during Arrival of the Reaper roflstomping the Presidium was a true prediction of the future, then I'd say a fair number of people on the Citadel had a super bad day indeed.

There is no evidence to say they are alive, and the only evidence to the contrary is the fact that the Citadel Tower has been turned into a death pit, but that can not be applied to the entirety of the Citadel so the answer is nobody knows.

I would expect that some people are still alive, only because the Citadel is a big place. But yeah, no way anyone survived the Citadel blowing to pieces in the Destroy ending...unless you're mother****ing Shepard, of course.

I have no idea, but the explosion and the skeleton of once was, just floating there, I have a very hard time believing anyone survived (irrespective of what any dev says). Also if they did, the fleet left them to perish as they leave on their merry way to absolutely who knows where (human fleet leaving Solo lol what an ending)

Yup, they all carked it. Maybe some of them survived since the Reapers didn't have control of the Citadel for very long, but they're definitely dead in Destroy and Synthesis.

Maybe we'll find out in the next DLC.

According to some Twitter feeds people hid in shelters. I guess it depends on how mcuh of the fleet survived and got back to save them. In the Control ending most people probably made it since that didn't cause any serious explosions.

But yes, the control ending could have saved a million or a few million lives on the citadel.

In Destoy and Synthesis people had to hide in shelters to survive and hope someone swings by and picks them up.

I would say no. But people have said there are 'shelters' that people went to, lol. No way. The entire thing blows up in all the endings. nope. They're dead. Unless your Shepard then you, free fall back to earth probably 100's of miles, after being exploded by a tube that detonates the citadel, have zero armor, or shield and no breather on. But meh...... Makes since to me.

It doesn't blow up in the control ending. It's very much intact. and alive, now housing the Shepard AI.

Yeah i'd say most died, anything else strains believability imo. Assume Bailey died defending Citadel.

Oh good, I'm so glad I went around doing all those characters' side missions and fetch quests now I know they're all screwed anyway.

We don't know what happened to people on the citadel because Bioware
themselves can't seem to make up their mind either.  When it was first
asked this is what Mac Walters had to say :-

Mac Walters wrote ... SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER (stop reading if u don't a SPOILER) : Some
escaped before the arms were closed. But for many... Bad times.

https://twitter.com/...930229329829888

Then it got changed too "Derp Mass Effect fields saved everyone so there is no reason to believe anyone is dead".  So which is it Bioware ?  I mean if Bioware can't even make up their mind about their story how the hell are the audience meant too.

That weren't predictions of the future, they were mixtures of the past that Shepard has seen. For, example, Anderson was present during the scene you mentioned in the dream, and the scene of Harbinger landing on Illium with many of Shepard's allies present has also never happened. In that dream, also memories of horizon with no connection to the future war are included.

Unfortunately some survived but most died. Maybe at some point in the future Bioware will give more details via Twitter as they seem to like leaving important imformation like this out of the game.

If I remember right, we were told assume all plot important characters survived.

But there aren't any, so everyone on the Citadel is dead.

i wonder if more developers will steal biowares idea of telling an incomplete story and then filling out the missing details via twitter.

"assume all important plot characters survived"
.....are you kidding me? thats how you want to tell your story? for being the third part of a trilogy, ME3 is pretty god damned messy.

This is exactly my thought process...they just expect us to speculate the entire thing because they themselves couldn't decide what to go with. It's really annoying imo.

No. Lots of people alive. Just look in the background while talking to TIM.

Anyone who honestly says "Oh look at all the moving cars!" is clearly delusional at least imo. Why would they bother deleteing such a tiny, insignificant detail in an otherwise static background? They dont expect you to be paying attention to that. It's just a lazy programming decision.
