Alright folks, lets keep this thread calm. The OP has posted some pretty negative things, I certainly don't agree with him, but I also respect his right not to enjoy our product. Lets try to keep the name calling and insults on either side down. Not going to lock this yet, but will keep an eye on it.

The majority of the name calling an insults is from the OP who has been raging against the game we love for 6 pages.

Why does his thread deserve to be left open?

Maybe Chris likes the Spidey pictures? :P

Also, to be fair, GoW2 came out nearly 3.5 years before ME3

Yeah but GoW3's horde mode sounds like it's Mass Effect's horde mode except swapping out powers for buildable fortifications.

So it's just changing out 1 feature for another.

Astute observation, though:

1) add powers
2) add buidables
3) ???
4) profit!

Or what I guess I'm saying is that combining both features would be pretty sick.

It would be nice if you stated how I wasn't really being rude until people started insulting my intelligence, my home, my city, and my username. I didnt use derogatory language until people insulted me. However, I do appreciate the fact that you realize im not just some "troll" and it is ok to have an opinion about this game besides its the best ever. Thank you

The multiplayer brings out the worst out to light, much like the ending it is shallow, overstated, and defended only by its most ardent fanboys.

Nice try playing the victim.  Seems to me this first post of yours was meant to start off a flamewar.

I agree and i disagree with OP.
this one "horde mode" that the game offers can be pretty boring, repetitive, and once one understands the mechanics, it is extremely predictable.
on the other side, the various characters, classes, the various builds, weapons makes this game .... em ... various :)

and let's not forget about the emotional affection for the ME universe. without it i am pretty sure i would have left the game months ago.

Gears of War's(and Mass Effect's) entire core combat mechanic revolves around using an idea that was done in 1999, 8 years before the first game in either of those series came out.

Your point?

Fighting with the OP is pointless. He loves his Call of Duty. I can understand that. But what I don't understand is why he decided to come into the Mass Effect 3 fourms and knowingly start a flamewar. I guess i'm getting older but I would never bother trying to convince Call of Duty fans that Mass Effect is better because they both offer different things. When you do these things you are just making yourself look bad. OP you should try to be more constructive with your argument. Just because Call of Duty is the game for you dosen't make it better than other games or your opinion the majority. Everyone is different. Respect others right to like what they like.

I would put it in the same category as other multiplayer games. Most have no story aspects. At least mass effect has the weapon leveling linked to earnings rather than increasing them with use. Imagine, all harrier scrubs having a field day never using another weapon. Also, weekend events where all participants earn something, rather than having a competition. I would like more story tie ins, and added depth, but all things said. This game has been quite a great distraction for a great many people. So far, my favorite multiplayer game.

and on top of this I don't understand why the mods have allowed this obvious flamewar thread to live.

So I've not played the new GoW.

Did they actually do anything new with their horde mode?

They added buildable fortifications. Yup that about sums it up. It was pretty fun though.

And challenges that dropped you a cache of supplies if you completed them in the allotted time/ wave, something ME3 also emulated at the end of each operation. Horde mode is also much more difficult and challenging than anything ME3 multi has to offer, so good luck getting to 50 on insane in your first try or your 50th without using some kind of boosted skill that GoW also added to the Horde Mode. They also added Beast mode which is Horde in reverse so dont forget that either.

You do know RE4 Mercinary mode did weopon drops first.

And Geow is just endless shooting with the same character in different skins.

Mass effect is characters with different skins, this doesnt change the fact that ME3 clearly is a dumbed down version of Gears of War horde mode. Just because RE4 did it first means nothing. GoW is the horde mode that these developers have tried to capitilize on. As soon as it appeared in GoW2, games began including it. And you do know its a known fact that RE4 was a huge influence on the dev of GoW. I dont see how this changes the ****tiness of ME3 multi

:mellow:So my asari adept can tank like my Korgan vanguard?
News to me.

You know why don't you show a vid of you using an asari adept like a Krogan vanguad...Then you can say ME3MP is justthe same character in different skins.

Also, it clear geow's horde mode differnce it's thatit's a pure shooter. ME3 inproved on it by appling it to an action rpg.

You now Its funny to call a game where you put points into various skills to create a variaty of characters, plus then add in gear and consumables, and a slew of weapons shallow. Maybe find a dictonary look up the word?

I think that Mass Effect has quite a different player base than GoW or CoD. I think you will find a lot more casual players in Mass Effect. People who wouldn't purchase a shooter game, but like the Mass Effect story and universe and enjoy the multiplayer partly thanks to the single player.

From a gameplay perspective, I actually agree. There's only so much you can do with pve horde mode.

But character customization, weapon diversity, and most importantly the universe and races they've created are top notch.

The game has some minor issues, but no game is perfectly free of any issues, but i will say this and i've said it before 98% of ME3 MP issues are lag....the other 2% is minor gaming mechanics and balancing issues concerning weapons and powers.

If you distill any game down to its bare mechanics and describe it in a few words, sure it's shallow.

But I don't play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer because it's "horde mode". I play it because I find the Mass Effect universe and characters interesting/endearing, and the various permutations of characters and weapons interesting. The horde mode is just a framework this multiplayer is built on. The devil is in the details.

I will not waste any more words on this thread.

We are all understand and aware of that

and what is your point exactly?

Originality?
There is no such game that has complete originality in shooter.

the basic aspect is shoot the enemies to death. Horde mode was just an addition and it doesn't make the game completely Original and i already saw many game with that Kind of addition what you so called 'Horde mode' long time ago BEFORE GoW.

The Reason why me as fan of ME3 wan't to play ME3Mp because IT EXPAND the universe as the last trilogy. And I basically love the universe of Mass Effect.

In Multiplayer we can play as Krogan, Drell, Asari, Turian...etc

what Krogan do?
Charging with melee attack, has Damage Resistance benefit, very tought. ANd can enter Rage Mode

Geth
Very skilled with Weapon by sacrificing their hardware when it activate the power called Hunter Mode. This race unique melee is Shield Pulse which can electrified enemy near them (same as Asari), the different is. This Melee Attack can drain your Shield, which is very dangerous.

In short
Every Races has THEIR OWN CHARACTERISTIC satrting from the Body, the voice, and the way they figh which is what makes me still interest in the game.
