 As a plot device to make up for all the english speaking aliens in this game, everyone has an autotranslator on their omni tool so every species can communicate with other aliens in their own language back and fourth. This is what I do not get.

Some species could not possibly have their language on the database such as Yahg (they aren't even spacefaring). Reapers? Collectors? doesn't make sense how their languages are in auto translators.

This problem goes back to Star Trek and beyond, though at least ME has the omnitool as somewhere for the translator to be. But your specific examples are excusable, I think. The Reapers are sufficiently advanced and have been monitoring organic civilization that they are probably able to communicate in forms the translators can handle, perhaps even straight English/council languages (even Vigil managed this so you'd expect a Reaper to be able to). You never actually talk to an individual Collector, if there is even such a thing, and the Collector-General and any drones he possesses are in fact proxies for Harbinger, so the same applies. Lastly the Yahg, and again you only talk to one, who happens to have been the Shadow Broker for decades and so must be another being able to make himself understood. There's also the Leviathans in ME3, which I thought were a problem until it occurred to me that their mind control might be the answer.

What PsiFive said. Basically it is a semi-plausible explanation for what is essentially hand-waving the problem away and saying "Just live with it. It is a game okay?"

As for Shadow Broker Yahg, I believe the info terminal mentions that particular Yahg learned several languages so it is conceivable he learned one of the languages understood by Shepard or his/ger saquadmates.
