I know for sure CDProjekt will not include microtransactions in their game.

That article is so full of speculation and heavily biased to CDProject's favour.

Don't know about that source...

It's probably best for both companies if their games don't come out in the same period.

I read the article and do not see the intimidation. No game developer wants to release a game at the same time as a competing product. It's like having too many cows in a pasture, they overgraze and do not produce as much milk as they would were they in a larger pasture.

Yeah.

I guess neither company would want their games to end up coming out too close together.  But I'd guess both companies would in the long run benefit from there being good games that could expand the fantasy CRPG market.

LOL, it's very poorly written, and has no actual information, only gossip. Video gaming journalism, as usual, is a joke.

That's the first I heard of the Witcher series, are they good games? Does CD Project only have a fantasy setting or does tr company have a Mass Effect equivalent?

As far as the article goes, I hope both games do well; more quality games on the market can only be good for the consumer.

Ha! This is nothing but total malarkey. I'm sorry but I feel bad for clicking on that link and giving these hack jobs the hits and ad revenue.

The "sources" they linked to in the article? Its just a search engine of their own site. And guess what was one of the top results? An article talking about how Avatar 4 is currently in production.

Yes. Avatar. The movie. With giant blue people. The article states that filming and production are complete for the SECOND AND THIRD MOVIES already and just haven't been released yet... and that they are starting to amp up production for a fourth movie.

I can't make this up if I tried.

Hack journalism is hack.

And I though the more or less constant marketing/overhyping of TW2 was bad. We're going to put up with this for how long now, a year plus? Joy.

Ah, the old secret inside sources who never mind breaking whatever confidentiality agreement is in their contract and blabing about anything and everything.

I never trust them. Either they're entirely made up, or they were already proven to be a liar when they told their employer they'd keep their mouth shut then turned around and blabed to a journalist.

Then again, I don't like journalists either. I trained as one for awhile at university. It made me physically sick to hear B&E, stalking, trespassing, harassment and invasision of privacy presented as desirable virtues rather then crimes.

Erm. I hope they realise that CDPR hasn't set a release date yet. People have speculated that it will be 2014. I don't think I've heard or seen any of the Devs from CDPR say that, and there are one or two which pop into The Witcher threads here, from time to time, with those of us who frequent them.

It's the same as Cyberpunk "it's ready when it's ready"

The curse of the 24 hour news service. There isn't 24 hours of news people, so we get this rubbish, which i'd hesitate to call journalism. It's sensationalist tabloid hackery.

NNNOOO!!!! DO NOT RUSH DA3! Honestly, it's best to shoot for a November or December 2013 or Q1 2014 release date to give this thing a good three years of dev time.

Yeah, that article not so good.

I could only really understand there being any issue here iif both titles were being planned as next-gen launch games, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's not in either publisher's interest to release two such similar games too close together but otherwise does it really matter which one comes first?

Doubt I'll be buying TW3 anyway, still haven't made it past first town of TW2!

This. That's one of the worst cases of objective journalism Ive seen. For me, Witcher 2 was a huge dissapointment.

Yeah cause TW2 was such a great game according to everyone... Oh wait, no it wasn't. :| It was one of the first games I've failed to finish ever and I've been playing games since the day I learned to walk, pretty much.

Hope BioWare doesn't react to this in any silly way.

"reaputation of CD Projekt Red is"

When I of all people or picking up on poor spelling and grammer there is a problem.

"EA and BioWare learned once how inferior their product was when compared to The Witcher 2 back when they released Dragon Age 2."

DA2 was released some months before TW2 right?

Oh, and "sources"

*rolls eyes*

The Witcher 2's plot may be boring to those who have not played the Witcher, I can understand that. I always felt the first Witcher had a better main plot. But, TW2 is in no way a bad game from a qualitative stand point. It outclasses and utterly destroys any BioWare game crafted after EA's acquisition of the company.

Yea poor article, no one cares.

I'd much rather avoid a second BioWare CDPR fan war this time around.

Seriously doubt it. It's not like there is such a glut of AAA RPGs on the market that people have to choose between them.
