34 here but i plan on playing until I'm older than Dirt as my son (7) would say... (55+) lol
I do not see myself ever quiting playing Games because it is a part of who I am. It is nice to see the older generation playing on this game however because I really get tired of the kids in other online games.

Be patient, man. There's still good kids.

Not saying that they are all bad I am just saying that i get tired of some of the kids that dominate games online, it seems like i am always getting in a lobby with a group of 10 year olds that want to talk trash and be generally rude...
but I do know some cases that are exceptions, I was just saying that it is nice to find an older more mature group of gamers on this game (which is one of the reasons I continue to play it) vs say Halo or Transformers or any of the Modern Warfare games, and don't even get me started on an oldschool game i bought for nostalgia called NBA JAM

41 here. Was worried that my gaming days were fast running out but this thread gives me hope!
Why?
I see that thrown around a lot - either older players saying they were worried their gaming time was running out or younger players chastising older players for still gaming. But why is that?
Gaming is a hobby and/or form of entertainment. Is there a set age where we are expected to stop watching movies or television? Is there a set age where we are expected to stop reading? Is there a set age where we are expected to stop doing anything that we enjoy?
So, why do people try to assign age barriers to gaming? Is it because of the old stereotype that gaming is for kids, and as we grow older one should put away kids' toys? Well, I've got news: gamers have been tearing down barriers for a while now. There was also a time, once, when female gamers weren't common (and we're still the minority, but numbers continue to grow). There was a time, once, when the only people considered gamers were the stereotypical geek/nerd... but you see more and more mainstream gaming from, guess what, people of all walks of life.
Don't limit yourself by your age. Who cares if you're 4, 14, 40, or 94? If you love doing something and are able to do it, DO IT. Don't EVER let a stereotype or peer pressure or doubt sway you away from a harmless recreational activity.
My Dad is 56 and STILL games when he comes home from work. So does my 41-year-old husband. And I sure don't plan on hanging up the hat anytime soon. I will be old and grey and in a nursing home, clutching my controller with my arthritic hands and chastising those darn young whippersnappers on my mic, talking about how gaming was back in my day, where you had to wait on load screens up and down a snowy hill both ways... or something like that.
Game on, brother. Game. On.

I am 46 next month and I love this game and community. Probably only been in 2 games ruined by idiots. I could never last more than two weeks in any other MP, always play through the SP 2 or 3 times and hang it up.
I am pleasantly surprised when the young ones on my friend list invite me to play. I can tell they are playing for the same reason I am, but there are some differences...
One example: they don't seem to want to talk! I know they have mics but they would rather text. I don't mind but I cannot type and fight at the same time. Obviously they can.
That's just one thing... Anybody else notice differences?

Knocking on the door of 40, still feel young though! I wonder what difficulty most of my fellow curmudgeons play in. Just curious - what's average for us? Mostly silver with flecks of gold for me, don't have the time perhaps temperament to do much more, I think.

Some of the guys I play with on a rather regular basis are in their forties. One of them is already a grandfather and he really likes it.
They know much about the game and the multiplayer, are always easy to talk to and can give useful adivce for real life problems.
