Greetings everyone!

Since college, I've always been a big fan of Tabletop RPGs and while most of my experience comes from Dungeons and Dragons, I have played a few others (Vampire: The Masqurade, Mutants and Masterminds, ect.). The past few years I've been DM'ing my own DnD Campaigns in 4th Edition and just the other day I was struck with the urge to play a Mass Effect Tabletop.

After a quick google search, I didn't come up with much. Other people have shown similar desires and a few people have started or claimed to have started making thier own. My plan was to clone 4th Ed rules with a Mass Effect skin, but as I went along it didn't really FEEL like Mass Effect. So, my friends and I have taken it upon ourselves to build a Tabletop RPG from the ground up in honor of our favorite Bioware Game. :)

One of the ideas we've been toying with and that which we all like is the Advantages\\Disadvantage system. These lists can be pretty comprehensive and add a lot of flavor to your character. So, I'm posting here just for ideas. Anything you can come up with, just post it. I know a lot of people have played a lot of different games, so you can come up with your ideas based on any rules and if chosen it will simply adapted to the system we make. Your ideas can be as general or as specific as you like.

As this project continues, I'll post updates and such if this thread gathers much interest. Thanks everyone! :)

Yep, we're aware. We wanted to build from the ground up though to make it feel as much like Mass Effect as possible. :) Such as upgrading abilities as opposed to a straight 'leveling up' system. But thanks for the suggestion. :)

Here are some examples of Advantages\\Disadvantages if anyone is unsure of what exactly we mean:

Advantages:
Proficiency (Weapon): Gain proficiency with a Weapon Type. (Low Cost)
Skill Training: Gain Training in a Skill. (Low Cost)
Stat Increase: Increase a Stat. (Medium Cost)
Eagle Eye: +4 to hit in first round of combat (Low Cost)
Improved Eagle Eye: Roll twice to hit for first round of combat (Med Cost)
Quick Recharge: Increases Shield Regen Rate (Medium Cost)
Combat Medic: When you apply Medi-gel to an ally, increase the healing. (Medium Cost)

Disadvantages:
Old Gimpy: Take a -1 Penalty to your Speed. This can be taken as many times as you have legs. (Low Cost)
Stat Decrease: Decrease a Stat. (Medium Cost)
Biotic Migraine: When you use a Biotic Ability, roll a d20. A roll of 5 or lower causes you to lose your next move action. Must be a Biotic to take this. (Medium Cost).
Xenophobia: This can be taken multiple times. Each time you take it, pick a race. Your character has a burning hatred for that race. (Low Cost).
Slow Recharge: Decreases Shield Recharge Rate. (Medium Cost)
Pacifist: Character will not use lethal force. Dealing a killing blow will always leave enemy with 1 HP. (med)
