Liara likely had content moved over to Traynor to beef up the token lesbian romance option.

The Asari being shadow broker seems downright reasonable compared to Admiral Tali and bioware actually considering making Garrus Primarch.

Her two years give her the experience and skills to try and take on the job. The yahg didn't have six decades of experience when he started. I'm guessing it had to learn too.

Fact is, she's the best person out of any character we ever meet besides the Broker himself and perhaps the Illusive Man, because she spent two years as an information broker.

1.  He did learn under the old SB then took over.  He didn't need Shepard to do all the fighting and hand him intel.

2.  She spent two years as an info broker completely obsessed with hunting down the SB.  She reminded me a bit of good ole Ahab a bit.  And she is still new to the job.  Two years in a field is hardly enough to call yourself a master at it.

Just because her content was moved does not make up for the fact that liara is a ****** poor broker on a good day.

The part of my post you deleted already answered this point.

Who's calling her a master?

The implication of her being the most "powerful" broker in the galaxy is essentially calling her the best in the business

It kind of helps to remember that agents are being killed by both Cerberus and the reapers.

She is the most powerful broker in the galaxy, there's no implication, that's a fact of the position she holds.

That doesn't make her a master. You've already pointed out that she had help taking the Shadow Broker down.

And she does it with either mercs or Shepard's help. The only difference is whether or not Feron survives the ordeal.

You mean her two years vs the Broker's six decades?

Her two years give her the experience and skills to try and take on the job. The yahg didn't have six decades of experience when he started. I'm guessing it had to learn too.

And this not taking into account that yahg are naturally much smarter and more perceptive than asari?

You're assuming I think Liara is the perfect Shadow Broker or even the equal of the yahg.

Fact is, she's the best person out of any character we ever meet besides the Broker himself and perhaps the Illusive Man, because she spent two years as an information broker.

Contrary to what the name might imply, the position of Shadow Broker entails more than just a simple information brokering. You need more than just brokering skills to do his job. At the end of LotSB, Liara showed management skills she should realistically not have had, 108 years old or not. And even then, she blew as the Shadow Broker.

Hell, Miranda Lawson or even Mordin would have been a significantly better replacement for the Shadow Broker than Liara.

Management skills such as?

She also doesn't blow as the Shadow Broker, the only reason anyone has a chance against the Reapers is because of her.

Hell, Miranda Lawson or even Mordin would have been a significantly better replacement for the Shadow Broker than Liara.

Why?

Well Miranda trained with Cerberus for years and was one of their best operatives, she clearly knows how to manage contacts.

And Mordin excels at everything.

Right....

Nope. Her being the most poweful broker is not the result of out competing the Shadow Broker, or outsmarting him, it's the result of being given information and knowing people good at killing, whilst being good at that herself.

Not seeing why this makes her better than Liara.

Mordin was good at science, and generally smart. Not seeing why this him better than Liara.

1.  Being able to manage contacts, see the bigger picture, deal in morally questionable activities.......

2.  And everything else he does

Liara is capable of doing all those things too. That's what makes her halfway suitable for the role. So again;seeing why this makes her better than Liara.

2.  And everything else he does

According to what? Mordin was genius biochemist and genetecist. He was trained for inilftration and subterfuge. He'd have been a good Shadow Broker agent, but I don't see why him having been really smart automatically makes him a better Shadow Broker candidate.

1. Liara couldn't do something morally dubious to save her soul.

2. Mordin is also an STG agent who analyzed threats to the Salarian Union (see SB dossiers). He sees the big pictrure very clearly, and is also not above morally dubious action.

Like willingly giving someone's corpse to a group of terrorists or becoming an information broker on a planet described as just as corrupt as Omega?

I'm still not seeing why this makes him a better candidate than Liara.

Being willing to bomb an entire building just to kill one person doesn't seem like a very sensible plan. It's made even less sensible as it failed miserably.
