1) are rogue really that usefull to disable traps in BG ? I just fear the lost of damage switching from a real damage dealer class to a rogue.
2) They worth to multiclass in BG ? I'm more used to NW then baldurs gate but I know the multiclass options are limited in BG.

1) It depends where you go and what your objectives are. If you know the game well then there are relatively few traps that are lethal on the main quest-line in BG1, so you could defend against them using magic. However, completing Durlag's Tower without a thief is not easy - even if you do know the game well. If you are running a full party then a thief would be worth far more to you than another fighter type - more treasure from opening locks and backstabs as well as disarming traps.
2) A fighter/thief is an extremely strong class. Mage/thief and cleric/thief are more difficult to play, but both offer great potential.
