Hello all!  I've been kind of an idiot and used Alistar as well as my my character in my first play through, and my main character is a shield champion tank.  I know its redundant but I like to RP and when I found out too late about how things work, I didn't want to drop Alistar for RP reasons.

So, I'm thinking about my next play through with is coming up very shortly. Will it be possible to use Sten as a 2 handed warrior as tanker for my next play through if I chose a mage or a rogue? I really want to try each group mate so I don't miss things, it would be a shame to have to use alistar again. Sadly, I invited Ohgren to my team for a tiny bit of time, and all he did was die, and die and die again. Even with my  shield champion with aggression and taunting like crazy. It was kinda sad.

Why use a 2hand war as a tank when a sword/board war gets better defense?



If you don't want to bring Alistair, then use the respec mod, considering how you're on the PC. Keep in mind that Sten only gets 1 spec point, so you'd be better off giving the role to a respecced Oghren.

Ive just finished the Dwarf noble origin as a 2hand warrior with Starfang. It packs a punch. less defense but more damage. and two-handed sweep is always handy in a tight crowd, no similar skill when fighting with a sword and shield.

I'm kind of a fanatic with RPGs, so mods aren't good option for me., even if that is dome. I just want to know if it is good and will work. So I can use all the team mates. Maybe I can use the golem Shale as tank instead?

Shale would make a good tank, actually. Much better than Sten/anyone else if you invest in the Stone Heart line. I find that Shale's better at generating threat, but that's just me.

There's no problem using Sten as a 2h tank. Not as effective as other options maybe, but you don't need to have the 'optimal' party to clear nightmare if you know what you're doing.
