I personally worry about armor far more than I do about shields, although certain specific builds do require fast shield stripping for optimal power usage or one-shot kills.

In general, however, if you have the ability to take down armor, you're pretty set on shields as well.

Asari Huntress for your armor/barrier stripping needs. For everything else, there's BW with disruptor ammo.

Although reegar make might work better...

My ID here isn't the same as my PSN ID. ;D

My guns look like this <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mantis, Viper, Raptor and a Kishock
Avenger, Vindicator and a Phaeston
Katana, Eviscerator, Reegar Carbine, and a Geth Plasma Shotgun.
Predator, Phalanx, Carnifex, Acolyte and an N7 Eagle.
Shuriken, Tempest, Locust and a N7 Hurricane.
Which gun do you think is better for me to use on the Shadow?? :)
Sniper rifles: By far the most traditional choices.
The Raptor is by far the most versitile of the above. Being a rather decent range submachinegun, and an adequate sniper rifle all in one package. Given good gear, it would be one of the highest DPS's at long range, good for softening targets prior to a shadow strike.
Can accept weight boosting mods at no weight penalty.
The Kishook pierces shield gate 100%, and is perfectly accurate hipfired. If you have deluisions of being a big daddy, this is the gun for you. Getting headshots with this babies hipfire makes me personally feel like a beast (Especially  thanks to the 3X headshots.) However, use it only while hosting.
Shotguns: A lot of them are a little heavy for what you likely want.... But compliment shadow strike sooo much.
The Eviscerator is good for good accurate fun on a headshot.
The Reegar is heavy and short ranged, but serves as an excellent follow up to shadow strike, but poorly compliments the slash (If you are into slashes, I am not, personally.)
It is very proficient at stripping people.
The GPS is one you will either love or hate.
Pistols:
The Predator is high dps.
The Phalanx can be built to do one shot one kill headshots on gold/platinum, believe it or not.
It is the trigger finger friendly alternative to the Predator.
The Accolyte is instant shields down, and a good sidarm to ANY of the weapons on this list.
If you have a high level Eagle, it will perform almost identically to the Raptor.
Submacineguns: All are ideal sidearms.
Locust: I wouldn't reccomend it to a console player.
Tempest: When equiped with stability, this is one of the most versitile weapons in the game, it is THE pocket Revenant.
In fact, most people see more use out of the Tempest then they ever have for the revenant, due to its similar performance, and much easier to controll nature.
Which one is the best against Geth? I'm looking for the best options because i'm planning to get my revenge on the Geth after the beating they gave me during Nightfall. :/
The Electric Slash sounds like its really really good against them! <3
I've only completed two Operations so far, so I only have my Eagle at I, but i dont use any of the pistols anyways besides the lovely Acolyte! ;D
My Tempest is at I and my Locust is at III, doesn't that make the Locust a better choice?? O.o
The Geth Plasma Shotgun has a special place in my heart, I only use it on my Phoenix Adept! <3
Only if you can headshot reliably. If you are only really able to bodyshot, the tempest at 1 beats the Locust at X.
Go Lightweight then. I assumed you would go for E-slash.
I think I can headshot pretty well with the Locust, but I almost can't do a thing with the Hurricane without a Stability Mod. The Tempest has some recoil too(maybe its the gun between the Hurricane and the Locust??) I'll give the Tempest a go then, and see if I'm comfortable with it or not! ;D
Thanks! <3
GPS if you host.  Hurricane otherwise.  Overload is good enough on it's own at stripping shields.
Max it if you feel comfortable with no/very little fitness.  Otherwise, 3 points.
Try the human engi. Acolyte + Overload should be the fastest shield stripper. And sorry for almost derailing your thread <cough>.
It'll be a little bit the level of the gun, and a lot the ease and comfort you have with it.
When my Phalanx was high level, and my Carnifex was low level, the Phalanx was my goto pistol, and it was magnificent.
I would never dream of taking it into Gold (hats off to anyone who does!) but on Bronze and Silver, the Phalanx is a Beast in the hands of a caster who can get headshots. Even without headshots, the fire rate is fantastic.
I currently use a Carnifex X/Hurricane VI ULM arrangement with my Shadow.
I'm a bit weird with my Shadow, though. I don't really play her the way most people do, so take my advice with a grain of salt. The scoped Carnifex will slaughter everything on Silver. I mean everything. Even Collectors will crumple to a headshot. (This changes on Gold, something I'm still working on.)
That's with no weapon passives, either. They aren't necessary on Bronze or Silver, if you are comfortable aiming with the weapon, and the fire rate. It's very similar to using a sniper rifle, though obviously has a shorter scope, and faster fire rate with lower damage. All of which is manageable.
Since it's a Shadow, the TC damage bonus applies, and it certainly helps to work that in to maximize damage, particularly if you're lining up a head shot.
The Hurricane is tricky to learn. Because, with ULM, it can be a sidearm, here's a good way to practice with it.
Normally, you pull your sidearm when you are low on ammunation with your primary, or if your primary is ill-suited to close combat.
It's hard to practice aiming at range that way, though. So when you are fighting a boss with a big profile, practice with the Hurricane, pushing the right thumbstick to counter the barrel climb.
Do this every time you face such a boss creature, at least until its shields are gone. Over time, you'll get the feel for the timing with the right thumbstick. You'll push just as you pull the trigger, and release just as you stop.
The way my Shadow is specced, the refresh time on TC is identical to the clip burst/reload of the Hurricane (absolutely identical, it blows my mind!) and the rythm practically writes itself. The Hurricane, with no recoil bonuses, with TC and with right thumbstick practice, is actually my most effective weapon against bosses with the Shadow, even at medium range.
But that scoped Carnifex, is hard to beat on a caster at long range. :wub:
(Unless you have a high level Paladin, and I don't.)
As always, however, it's important to note how successful you are with a gun. As you upgrade it's level, try it again. It may work better. Some guns work really well with some people, and not others (the Crusader being an example.)
Definitely the Reegar/Acolyte.
But I'm not going to lie.
I can make anything(one) become a stripper for me. Even if it is just the single performance.
I may as well make use of this English charm...
...
That, and maybe disruptor/phasic ammunition. :bandit:
turian ghost, overload specced for damage and used under tactical cloak. Depending how you set it up, you can deal from 3000 up to max 4000 damage with 1 overload.
used the narida class builder for calculations(dont forget to turn on tactical cloak at the right side):
http://narida.pytalh...enadeCapacity5/
Other infiltrators with shield stripping powers also have quite good results, but not that good.
I use the Carnifex on my Asari Adept, I don't really like it all that much, (My Carnifex is at I ) I guess I can try the Phalanx
IV! ;D
I also got the Graal Spike Thrower yesterday! ^.^ I put it on my Shadow and what do you know, I love it! <3 I had soooo much fun destroying the Geth! >:D
Electric Slash worked like a charm, even better than my Human Engineer with the Geth Plasma Shotgun! ;D
I used the Vorcha Sentinel with the Reegar against Geth, but it didn't go well. :/
Wow, xD Thanks for all the tips on how to use the Hurricane, I really appreciate it! ;D
Sooooo I've been playing the newly unlocked Geth Engineer with the Geth Plasma Shotgun, and he is just A-Mazing! <3
I don't have to worry about fighting the Geth that much anymore, since i can see them with Hunter Mode, and have a Geth Turret to heal me if I get into trouble! ^.^
As everyone has suggested, he has Overload to strip shields and i gave him the Geth Shotgun as his weapon, because its accurate, very powerful and also because he's a Geth! <3
I never thought I'd say this, but I love using a Geth! I only wish that there would be some kind of Biotic version, so i don't have a hard time with Reapers when using the Geth. :/
So I've decided to play the Volus Adept for the first time and at first I couldn't get used to him bring so low. I'm used to using cover! >.<
After a few trials on Bronze -.- I can finally handle myself on Silver by using his cloak over and over again! xD
I use him on Silver Difficulty with an Acolyte and Hurricane, Cryo Ammo, and I use the Biotic Orbs to do explosions! ;D
He's like a lil Teddy Bear and I absolutely love it! xD
