Long time NWN fan and am trying to play through NWN2.
I am at the West Harbor battle scene near the beginning; I've fought off multiple waves of dwarves/bladelings and chose to stay and fight when my companion went to save his siblings.
Then Daeghun showed up and we fought off the last wave. Now nothing is happening. When I attempt to talk to Georg or Daeghun they have no dialogue and I've run all over town and gone everywhere in hopes of advancing the story. There is no autosave before the battle and I'm not willing to start the entire game from scratch.

The game has barely begun at that point. If you were to export your character and restart (importing the same character), you could choose to skip the tutorial section (the fair) and go straight to the start of the West Harbor battle. Plus you'd get some extra experience points as well - probably enough to bump you forward another level.
If you were destined to meet a game-breaking bug that required a restart, then having it occur so early in the game is the best outcome possible.

Oh, I can skip the fair portion of the game then, thanks!

It sounds like a conversation that should have fired after the battle didn't. Sometimes it helps to make sure you are controlling your main PC at the end of a battle, because the game is set up to only allow the main PC to be an active speaker.

In a recent playthrough the "stay back you three" cutscene didn't fire because Amy/Bevil broke the trigger while gathering loot.
(I played on for a while and discovered that not all the spells Tarmas and the gith are throwing are fakes; I wandered too close and some lightning bolt or similar flash fried my poor level 3 PC instantly. Tarmas is right, it really is too dangerous.)
