who else would have liked it more if, instead of the body EDI has, she was just put into a highly upgraded LOKI mech?

i'm not a huge fan of EDI's body, but i prefer it to a highly upgraded LOKI mech. the LOKIs are annoying and not that versatile in battle.

Yes, very recently. That topic got locked, though.

We can develop this topic further since we we're getting at the superfluous specialization of female characters in video games.
Which really was my main problem with EDI's body. It looked like sex toy rather than the supposed metropolis feel it was supposed to evoke.
When she described her sensations through the ship's sensors my min was captivated. When she acquired her robot body and asked me relationship questions, my eyes were rolling out of their sockets.

Actually arial, I tend to agree with Mango above. Leave EDI in the ship.arial wrote...
so, anyone else gonna comment on my whole "Upgraded LOKI Mech" thing?
The game could still have the AI arc whereby she learns more about who she is. A sentient ship. A ship that can maneuver better than the Reapers or any other ship in existance who also has a strong sense of duty to crew and, if played right, a healthy hate for the Reapers.
Ever seen a mother protecting their young? EDI would be hell on thrusters in battle.
(Okay, just my view there but really, a body to give her form was unneeded. She was the Normandy.)

I was more mad my Renegade couldn't tell her to get the fcuk out of that body.
Why would you? Nothing wrong with an extra pair of hands.

My Renegade is extremely anti AI- EDI is equipment, and attempting to make itself seem more 'human' is unacceptable to her since EDI is just programming.

Indeed; my Shepard had essentially the same views on synthetics as Javik did.KiwiQuiche wrote...

Which made it quite infuriating when I got stuck with a bunch of pro-robot autodialogue.

Yes, programming that can use tech powers, fire guns and is eager to serve. Under the circumstances, that's a useful ally to have.

It's a machine that tries to act like a person when it obviously isn't. My Renegade would have killed EDI herself if she had gotten the opportunity. It did show up right at the end, though.
