I don't think the body matters at all. Its a temporary vessel. Dead eva gets destroyed? No problem. Just find another car. Can be living (organic, I guess, in this case), or non-organic. If Javik dies she could be a Prothean. In the grand scheme of things that would make her a very powerful Alliance "asset".

It was mentioned on the first page that perhaps her character as the ship's AI should have been developed more. That is a very good idea, to me. So Sci-Fi. So 2001 Space Oddysey. It would add a friendly machine character to the squad as well as another element to the ME universe.

EDI's ability to occupy bodies could also have been used to bring back lost characters. I lost Legion during my ME2 playthrough. I let Kaiden die in the ME1. Mordin was lost in ME3. One playthrough, first, I had to kill Wrex. I think it would have been cool if Bio had let me use EDI to resurrect one of those characters. Maybe even let me switch between them. They could even do a DLC where EDI has to resuurect Kaiden or Ashley, or Mordin to do a character specific mission.

Actually... I kinda like that idea. Just give the dead organic a bit of a retooling (a la Saren) and there you go! (note: not sarcasm)

Also, I would like to add to the list of EVA capabilities. The Eva Core body can also shapeshift - it says so in the codex.
I only add this because another thread was complaining that it didn't make sense to have an infiltration unit be so recognizable. But that's not so important if she can change appearance when a particular mission is over.

This is just silly. You can't just add something to it and say.... Great, now it can do that as well.

Because hey, what if we fitted EVA with a tactical nuclear? Now it got that going for it as well. Put that up on the plus side.

Give me a break.

Besides it is not just 6 shots. There is the kodiak crash, she gets rammed and is on fire.

Why not? The Rampart Mech has an omni-blade, part of an omni-tool. Inicinerate and overload are not abilities inherent to the user, they're part of an omni-tool's function, as long as the user knows how to perform it, which evidently EDI does. Not seeing why this is so incredible. Yeah, give EDI a gun, she can shoot things. Give her an omni-tool, she can Incinerate.

And the Kodiak crash only caused cosmetic damage to EVA's outer layer. That's no testament to EVA's durability. Any mech should be relatively durable against fire, as long as we're not talking about super-heated material like Incinerate launches. James walked out of the same crash just fine, so it's really not saying much. The difference is that his armour was on the outside, while EVA's was under the skin.

This is besides the point to be honest. Whether EDI's body is that unique when compared to other mechs isn't even the issue. My issue is that she looks ridiculous.

I don't hate the idea (in theory), but the metal hair, boobs, and heels are what gives me a case of the facepalms.

Well it makes even less sense for edi to be in a loki, rampart, whatever battle bot, when you can have any cheap battle ai run that particular robot.

A human like robot that lets her interact relatively naturally with the crew would presumably lead to better performance in the situation where she is mostly needed. To enhance the normandy ai warfare suites and help in ship to ship combat (by understanding the human crew better).

I think the last makes alot more sense than any run of the mill robot body for her.

Regarding the body itself. Boobs let her seduce mars base administrators, but cameltoes are silly.

Thats where I choose to draw the line (only slight pun intended).

What effect does a body have on her ability to operate the Normandy's cyberwarfare suites? The only thing having a body would affect on the Normandy is her interaction with the crew, which I will agree her Eva body is better for. Ultimately though for combat (which is my point), I think the Rampart would be a better choice, being specifically designed for it.

The Rampart's combat prowess and toolset + EDI's control and incredible intelligence.

I liked EDI.

Though an Eva Core appearance skin would be great if you ask me.

The whole ''having a body'' thing was just unnecessary to me, and that they choose a sexbot to boot was just plain silly (seriously, why would you make an infiltration unit with these curves? Because you can bet every single heterosexual male within a mile will remember them). I liked EDI far more as the voice of the Normandy, Freudian hologram aside. Now it seems they just put her in a robot so that she sould have this cliche, predictable romance with Joker.

I'd much rather have had Legion back, to be honest.

Why not? WHY NOT?? Because it can't! Okay? It can't. Have you seen a Rampart use incinerate? No you haven't. Tali has an omnitool, but she don't have the incinerate ability either - now does she? Just stop it. You can't just say: "why not?". Come on.

Why don't EDI have a tactical nuclear warhead - just give her remote access to the missiles computer system and there we go. "Why not?"

Think the ability to walk through Cerberus force field and having an invulnerability shield that the Rampart has is so fantastic? - just add it to the EVA CORE body! "Why not?" Anything goes (apparently).

Newsflash. James was not on fire. James was in a seat, and hit it directly face on, while EVA CORE was hit from the side, so there is also that. And... only cosmetic damage when being on fire? riiight.

This is what I always said. What if? Or what if the body simply wasn't sexy. What if it were a giant crane? Same concept if EDI never got a body at all: romance at a personal level rather then a physical one. Shows more depth and requires better writing.

Why doesn't EDI have weapons built into the body?

Like mounted mass accelerator cannons on her chest. I mean she has the room.

If by "once again" you mean "for the first time".

So you dismiss any and all notion of a rational argument, but suddenly take offense when I call your BS? Hello hypocrite.
