When someone finally convinced me to play Mass effect, we couldn't not play from the beginning, back and forth we played 1,2&3 back to back practically. We liked the general story of one but found it a little repetitive and our biggest dislike of playing the trilogy over is ME1 is just too repetitive that we just cant bring ourselves to go through it again and quit soon after. 2 was fun, felt a little like just a segue but a whole lot of fun. 3 was great too. We actually were surprised others had a problem with the ending until I got online. Hated MP and the gender equality but from beginning to end we played them all and in the last year too.

I set up so many ME 2 imports that I don't really need to. I've got characters for pretty much every LI, renegade, paragon, class, etc. all stemming from 6 level 60 ME 1 characters. Looking back I guess I didn't need that many given that nothing drastic changes in ME 3 unfortunately (not to mention Jack, Miranda, Jacob, and Thane romances being so disappointing).

But I don't care, Mass Effect 1and 2 were worth playing so much. Still can't bring myself to uninstall them.

Probably one more run, and then I'm done.

I'm going to play the hell out of the trilogy when they release the final DLC next month. Then I'll do my "definitive run".

I just started my third trilogy play through, though at times playing the first ME is frustrating because the combat has evolved so much over the last five years. I'm interested to see how the "Bring Down the Sky" and "Pinnacle Station" DLCs play out though.

Yup. I'm replaying ME1 on PS3 right now, planning to go through the whole trilogy.

OP : all the time. If I have to replay to ME3, I will replay to the two first games prior.

Once only so far. The re-playability of ME3 leaves you cold.

I did both a paragon and renegade playthrough of ME2, followed by a paragon and renegade playthrough of ME1 and into ME2.  When ME3 was released, I played to conclusion three of those four campaigns.  So as of last summer I had played ME1 twice, ME2 four times, and ME3 three times.  Recently I decided to try an entire playthrough of the series, but after putting 4 or 5 hours into ME1 I lost interest.  I don't really find the gameplay all that attractive, although some of the RPG elements of the game still intrigue me.  And I don't like all the fetch quests.  I've also contemplated playing the game through as a female Shepard, though I'm not sure it'd be worth it.  I'd really like to hear Jennifer Hale's work though.

So to answer the question, no.  I haven't played the game through from ME1 to ME3.

I'm holding off on another full playthrough until the last ME3 DLC. I'll likely be playing the entire series for more years to come. I still make time to play KotOR fully at least once a year.

Every new Shep starts from ME1. Honestly have classes I have never played in any of the games yet. Just started a male Adept, colonist/war hero. Just finished a run thru ME1 and started ME2 with him.

I usually start with ME2 with the genesis comic and play through from there. A big part of the reason is Feros is really tedious and boring. >_<

I began the whole series over again and I am a good way into ME again. I will play up to the end of ME2 and then I shall wait for the end of the DLC for ME3 before I play that again. Fans who blasted every move the company made burnt me out so I bought all the ME3 DLC but haven't played the Extended Cut or any of the following DLC.

Hoping this will provide a great overall story and hours of fun :) Till then I got my Assassins Creed series and Mass Effect Multiplayer.

Just about to finish my second playthrough of the whole series. I can't help but feel a bit down by the end though. I'm just starting to realize how formulaic ME3 gets in the final act. Plus knowing that the ending is nearing... eh.

I'm still playing it from 1 through 3, still looking for anything I missed.

Yes indeed, I have played ME 1 from the end of last summer handful of missions at a time then went on to NG+ I believe I clocked around 80 hours, although I stopped at some point and I didn't play for long while I carried my shep over to ME 2, again few missions at a time, now finally in ME 3 ready to start Thessia. That's about more than half year playthrough :D but I don't mind.
Just want to point out I don't remember anymore how many times I have played ME 1 and 2, but ME 3 I have completed like 4 times with NG+.

Yes, I think I've played through the whole trilogy about 4 times since ME3 came out and I'm most likely to do so again. It's still my favorite game series ever.

Finished the first game again 3 days ago, making a perfect 100% play through with 100% renegade on both 1 and 2, for a new fem shep with garrus as LI. and ofcourse, breaking liaras heart in the process.

Once the last DLC for ME3 comes out, I'll give the series one final playthough (from Mass Effect Revelation to Homeworlds 1 and 2 to Mass Effect to Mass Effect Ascension etc), and then I'm done with Mass Effect for a good few years.

Yeah, I'm on my "the definitive 'me' Shepard... really truly this time" run hoping to hit ME3 in time for the DLC to come out right now. I'll probably do another one someday, but I really have to let my batteries recharge before I consent to finding every little thing in Mass Effect 1 again. I love the game, but hate the amount of Mako mountain-climbing required just so I can have found every little thing.

Dr.Freeman wrote...

Yes I started my complete playthrough several weeks ago. Finished ME1 and I'm standing right before the suicide mission in ME2. Hopefully the next DLC comes out soon, but I guess I will finish ME3 with MEHEM this time.
It was the first time I play ME1 after ME3 and I loved it, no autodialogue, paragon/renegade choices everywhere, this is so much better than ME3.
Now I would like to stay true to Liara, but this is really hard in ME2, since the romance is completely ignored by the other crew members and everybody tries to hit on Shep, so I basically pissed them off by saying no to everyone

Agree with everything you said.

Yes i play the trilogy and i have been playing it ever since the first game came out. I have all the DLC for all 3 games. It is a beauty is all i can say , i find the first game is the best in terms of storyline and views , excellent exploration and i vote yes for the mako any time , the second is probably the longest and the best of the three in terms of character development , improvement and romance with the third game being somewhere on the last place due to the lack of originality and the shortage of everything that made mass effect beautiful such as planetary exploration , manual mining and many more.

Im very close to a grand total of 6000 hours played in the Mass Effect Universe , ever since the first game 2007 and up until now 2013. I love it so no complaints.
