That is racist.
I'm pretty sure that's a glitch. I made a thread regarding that quote a couple of months ago and apparently she's only supposed to say that around the Keeper in the human embassy.

I understand why people might get rubbed the wrong way but I have a few counterarguments to some of the Ash hate.
3. Ashley doesn't stop mistrusting you because of Cerberus. As a member of the military would you trust someone who fought alongside the enemy right away? You'd have to rebuild the trust back up.
I'd give my former friend the benefit of the doubt and allow them the opportunity to explain, and at least have a go at examining the situation in a somewhat logical manner.
Things Ashley didn't do. She's like a horse with blinders, all she sees is Shepard and Cerberus.

Her cosmetic change in 3 didn't help.

I disagree. Her updated character model (like all the other updated models) looks better than the original. They let her hair down and gave her some make up. No harm done.

Definitely looks better to me too. Also that armor is awesome. If they didn't include the armor in the game, then I'd be crackin' my knuckles.

Blue and white is probably my favorite color combination. So, naturally I love her new armor. I tried to replicate it with my Shepard but I couldn't get the right blue tint. That still kinda irks me even after all this time.Biotic Sage wrote...

I admit, these aren't very endearing statements to make haha.
But then again, I like Jaime Lannister as a character and he pushed a kid out of a window and does the humpty dance with his own sister...so maybe some people see Ashley as a flawed, but interesting and certainly not irredeemable character.

Would you trust someone who worked for a terrorist organization IRL? I wouldn't.Robosexual wrote...

I'd at least give them a chance to explain.
If Ashley had down that she'd have realized she was completely wrong about everything.

Me- "You were working with a terrorist organisation! Even though I love you, how can I trust you again??"
"Well I was only working with them to stop the people that were abducting and killing hundreds of thousands of Humans. You saw this yourself. We did stop them and then I turned myself in, and our ex-squadmates who aren't even Human even told you this."
Things I wouldn't say in response to that:
"Shutup you were working with a terrorist organisation how can I trust you! (times 10)."

Now that I'm going through and "filming" my ME play soon I am wondering if there is a way of taking the ME3 Ash tex mod into ME1 and ME2 for consistency.

Because she's probably the most realistic character Shepard can recruit, and therefore, people find her boring.
She also doesn't bend over backwards to ingratiate herself, unlike some other (more popular) characters.
I'd actually put Vega, Jacob, and Zaeed as more realistic, Vega being the most.
Yea, Jacob... and the tunnel with the valves in the Collector base: The black guy volunteering for a suicide mission. That truly is original!

About eight months late, but yeah, she does.
And isn't satisfied, so I've come to believe she has an allergy to logic.

It's an observation, which is not inherintly 'racist'.

From a storytelling point of view, being able to tell something about racism is one of the major reasons to choose a setting with aliens in the first place. Publishing a game where the player has, for instance, the choice to commit genocide of any ethnicity, you just can't do that.

Also the puppy was in a relationship with a baby varren and that is ALIEN LOVE and she cannot let our animal youth carry on with that kind of behavior. Also also the puppy was quoted as saying "I am stylistically opposed to the inclusion of boob windows in military attire."
So she KILLED IT. I read it in Ashley Hater's Enquirer so it must be true.
Another tidbit I learned there: genophage? Totally released by Ashley. Time machine. BOOM.

Perhaps its because i have no real say in whether her or Kaidan stay. I mean if you dislike them both, like i do, then there is no real distinction or meaning for any of the choices made surrounding them. Still going to be stuck with one of them for at least 2.5 games.

Posté 11 février 2013 - 12:16
First it was "Kaidan is boring" and "Ashley is racist", then Horizon happened .... "Why would an Alliance soldier not immediatly trust my Shepard that is working for the enemy that we fought in ME1?"
Yeah ... pretty much sums it up.
And then in ME3? Okay i thought the whole trust issue was a bit overplayed, but didnt bother me to much. After Mars, the whole thing is done anyway, because they're gone untill after the Citadel coup. After that they tell you, they'll never doubt you again, at least Kaidan did, I don't know about Ashley.
