As of tonight, I'm a proud owner of a Crusader X.

Regarless of whether or not you feel jealousy or pity, I'm sure that you, the forumite has an opinion on the Crusader.

The first promo weapon I got, the Crusader, has finally reached the pinnacle of its effectiveness.  It took a while, but I finally found a niche for the weapon myself in the Turian Soldier.  It works fine in other uses, but I find that with the Turian Soldier it is controllable enough to get headshots, making the weapon worth the weight.  (Granted, the TSo makes every weapon great, but the Crusader seems to benefit more than most weapons.)

How do you use the Crusader?  Is there a favorite setup of yours for it?

It's just to Heavy... So I don't use it. I cringe when I get an upgrade for it. I could have gotten an Eagle or Hurricane upgrade... But no!

I only used it once.
It was shotgun that was difficult to use at close range, only effective if getting headshots at mid-range, and at long range wasn't worth the ammo. I would have considered getting to know it better if it wasn't such a brick.

The aim delay is what kills it for me.

It's worth trying out on classes that can handle the weight.  Turian Soldier is my recommendation, in particular.  If you can handle the recoil, Human Soldier could probably make great use of it as well.

It's got a bit of a learning curve.  As I said before, Turian Soldier makes this weapon pretty viable.  Sort of like a better Saber that has an aim delay.  It becomes usable at even long-range with this setup.

Takes a while to get used to, but if you do a few continuous matches with it it'll get easier.

The aim delay can be mended.

You must use a character that can freeze the enemy instantly & constantly

Overload/energy drain!

Slap a crusader on the Turian Sentinel(built with no warp, only overload)
1. Freeze enemy
2. BOOM
3. dead

rinse & repeat

(PS, I received my Crusader 9 today :D)

Probably the most underrated weapon in our arsenal.

Incredibly brutal damage, great reload, decent ROF, but yeah it's heavy. Ohh well... it's not a Casters weapon... it's a Soldier/Infiltrators Saber/Raider hybrid... and if F'n rules.

Pillow: Put it on your GI/Destroyer and get back to me. It makes Praetorians cry.

Welcome to the club. I used to hate this gun, but I slapped in on my Demolisher one night and I haven't looked back. It's got good damage, innate penetration, good RoF, decent clip...I think the only thing holding this gun from becoming one of the best shotguns in the game (read: most used) is it's odd aiming mechanic. Much like the Acolyte's charge mechanic, it justifies the guns overall greatness for those willing to learn how to use it.

I'm not a huge fan of the Crusader, but I'd much rather have a Crusader X than a Crusader IV and Valkyrie VI.

I can't complain too much though, as the Comm Packs have been pretty kind to me. I've got a Hurricane IX, and a Valiant VII. I don't really ever use the Valiant anymore, but it was a great crutch weapon back when I was first acclimating to Gold. Even after gathering dust for several months, I'd guess I still logged more time with a Valiant SI than I have with any other single character/weapon combo in all the time since.

You are absolutely right, megabeast ;)
The key to master this weapon is to use it exactly as the Saber AR, it's a scopeless sniper rifle( btw, I never use a scope on the saber )  and it's the most underrated weapon in the game. It's average at close range but at mid-long range it's simply incredible in the hands of a soldier/infiltrator

You can't kill an enemy on the other side of FB Hydra with the Wraith. You can with the Crusader.

I love my Wraith, but they're two different weapons. The Crusader is comparable to the Saber, not to other shotguns.

I love it. The only enemies that give me a bit of a headache are Dragoons, since they move too fast and make the delay noticeable. Against the Reapers, though, it's a f**king beast. Brutes and Ravagers tremble at its mention.

You can also slap it on the Vanilla HSo. Adrenaline mode gives you an immense damage boost (almost as big as TC's) while increasing your shields. It's also a lot more flexible and durable than the Destroyer on Gold on account of being able to dodge. And you can fire 8 slugs without recharging. And it helps a lot with RC.

I like it on the Turian Sentinel. Warp ammo and Warp to prime targets for that damage boosting combo with his passives makes it hit pretty damn hard.

I like it at close range too... hipfiring it just as I would the Raider. That's one of the reasons I really like the weapon... it's quite versatile.

I will not use it. The Devs confirmed that it is bugged and they will not fix it.

I use it on my drell adept... love it.

The reave/stagger is great for popping a head or two + the high mobility makes running-n-gunning really fun.

I'll go with phasic if i don't use it on a biotic. It works pretty well.

They have confirmed that it won't be fixed? O_o Well, if fixed it would be nerfed ASAP anyway.

I just love this weapon. If not for the weight every class would have it, but that's okay. Claymore weighs the same on X and goes with any class, just like Guile's theme. The aim delay is not that horrendous, it actually is okay if you aim a little ahead and wait for the enemy to run into your crosshair.

I think I am weird. I never noticed any delay :?
Anyway, it´s kind of fun to snipe with shotgun :innocent:
