I tried it out on my Human Soldier who still does ok without a super fast cooldown, but I still think it's heavier than it needs to be.

I just don't see a reason for it to be as heavy as the Claymore, which is significantly heavier than any other shotgun.

At lvl X, the heaviest shotguns in the game weigh 1.4, except the Crusader and Claymore which both weight 2.0. The Claymore being that heavy is justified, but the Crusader, while pretty powerful, is not near as powerful, in fact it's less than half as powerful. And given the fact that it has that pain in the neck aim delay to deal with, the weight is just not justified at all.

It's unreliable because it's not a projectile weapon, yet it has a delay. Even if you know the 3/4 animations of the AI to predict/lead, it still doesn't hit reliably. Especially if you twitch shot.

This is why I don’t use it, as much as it pains me not to (I
have it at X and would love to make use of the only promo I’ve got at that
level).

The shot delay is off-putting, and prone to lag, so it never
ends up quite as effective or accurate as I’d like it to be, which is a shame.

Crusader X here as well. I haven't tried it in a long time. might be time to dust it off
what are the best mods for it?

I tend to run spare ammo capacity and high caliber barrel on mine.

I finally found a use for my Crusader IX, soloing silver. I used it on my Kroguard so that I could slowly and carefully aim while taking a pounding. Quickest I ever finished the Crusader for the shot gun challenge. The RNG has not been kind to me, Crusader IX, Valiant IX, Eagle VI, Valkyrie III, and Hurricane III.

Mine is only at II and it's too heavy.
It'll break my salarian's arms trying to lift it.
I heard Krogans use it as a weight for weightlifting.

The aim delay can be mended.

You must use a character that can freeze the enemy instantly & constantly

Overload/energy drain!

Slap a crusader on the Turian Sentinel(built with no warp, only overload)
1. Freeze enemy
2. BOOM
3. dead

rinse & repeat

(PS, I received my Crusader 9 today :D)

y u no warp :(

rearry?

Crusader 9's stopping power is more than enough.
Your powers are to allow you to shoot down your enemy.

If you're casting warp, then casting it a second time because the enemy dodged it...then you arent shooting your crusader and killing ****!

I have it at VIII, it's pretty good. I find it works well on Vorcha, I can put a EB and a heavy blade on it. Use flamer/melee to kill things close and the Crusader to kill things far.

Good weapon for Batarian sentinel, net and headshot'em all, Crusader X too.

My first test were terribad, the gun has a long learning curve.

I love to use the Crusader with my Quarian Marksman. I load him out with Heavy Barrel and Barrage Mod. His powers recharge so quickly that the heavy weight really is not an issue. By the time you unload 4-6 shots 2 times, marksman is up to cast again. Paired with an Acolyte, it's pretty beastly.

I have it at VIII and I trie to use it again recently...

Honestly I did not feel like it did that much damage, what was I missing?

I put all 4 shots into an atlus and felt like it really wasn't as good as the wraith or claymore.

So very jealous right now. I've been waiting for a Crusader upgrade for months. Months! I'll have to be happy with the Crusader VII for a little longer I suppose. Meanwhile, I'm up to a Hurricane V, Eagle VI, and Valiant VII. Oh, and a Valkyrie III...

Forgot to add:  I use the Crusader on the QFI.  Packs quite the punch.

Warp is best used against large bosses with armor (for debuffing purposes, if nothing else), such as Banshees, Brutes, Scions, Praetorians, Atlases, and Geth Primes. I have never had any trouble with any of these units dodging Warp.

If the thing you shot at dodged Warp, it's the type of thing you probably should have cast Overload at instead.

General rule of thumb: Warp the big stuff, Overload the small stuff.

Jus' sayin'. I'm a professional Turian Sentinel. Image IPB

I fail to see how it is supposed to be particularly good on turian soldier. The gun's rate of fire is good. Accuracy is breathtaking. The gun reloads fast enough that the instant reload from marksman is not needed. It has high recoil, but it is not terrible.

Can someone please explain what I am missing?

Specced for ROF, and with all of the damage boosts from the passive, your damage output is very reasonable.  The recoil reduction makes this weapon much easier to hit enemies with.

I don't post here hardly at all, but my Crusader X w/ spare ammo and HVB build is as follows (please remember this isn't the end all be all build and don't treat it as such):

Turian Soldier [No Marksman 6/6/6/6 build for Crusader only]
--------------------
Concussive Shot - Radius, Recharge*, Shredder
Proximity Mine - Radius, Damage Taken, Recharge*
Turian Veteran - Damage + Stability, Power Damage**, Damage + Stability
Fitness - Durability, Shield Recharge, Durability

* I took Recharge over the other options so I could spam these powers after every 2nd/3rd shot.
** I took Power Force/Damage over Headshots because I tend to fire into the torso of enemies with this gun and I wanted to be sure I had enough Force from Concussive Shot to stagger all the little guys on Gold.
---------------

P.S. I tend to use AP ammo on this gun also for bosskilling.

This would probably be my favorite gun if it wasn't for the times when you're like 6 feet away from a marauder aiming right at his head and you unload a whole magazine into his face but he loses no health. Then he proceeds to spray you with the phaeston of pure evil and then finishes you off with the peoples elbow.

Question for all you crusader X owners (i wish i had one)

Anyway my Crusader is at level 5 is there a noticable difference in damage output (noticeable as in killing quicker then with a crusader 5)? I use my crusader on the geth engineer and its a real good combo IMO yes its heavy specially with the high velocity barrel -39 cooldown lol, finally i scored gold medal for headshots 20+ and 75+ gold medal for shotgun kills this is a clear indication im getting used to this gun awesome potential.

The only gripe i have with it is its delay as mentioned many times but....i just kept using it and it seems to pay of even with the delay (is it on purpose or a bug...?)

Even on level 5 it wrecks phantoms if you strip their barriers or make them use their bubble in order for those easy headshots.
