While Kronner's build looked interesting, I prefer the mix of Tech combos and gunplay, so I run with a N7 Piranha for close range combat and a N7 Eagle scoped for my range shots (though I primarily rely on Tech combos for range). EDI (Incinerate) and Vega (Incendiary ammo/Carnage) are my two squadmates, though I may switch EDI with Ashley to add a 2nd N7 Typhoon and then use Amplified Concussive Shot with Incendiary upgrade to setup more Tech combos.
The biggest problem I have is switching back to another character and having to remind myself I'm no longer invincible

So i'm doing another rerun with my sentinel in ME3 and took Defense Matrix as my bonus power. I like the damage reduction, however I'm more of a power user than a weapons user. Should I choose power cooldown evo on tier 6? And if so, should which one should I choose to do this with (tech armor, DM, both)? I like the durability but I just hate that it takes +3 seconds to recharge all of my powers. Also, I'm using harrier X and Reager VI atm (about a +108% cooldown bonus).
If you are a power user, then I recommend taking Fortification as a bonus power. It has a better cooldown penalty (+50%) than Defense Matrix and Barrier, and has better damage reduction. And if you are running with those weapons (with +108% weapon weight), then by all means, take both Recharge Speed bonuses on Tech Armor and Fortification at rank 6.
Tech Armor and Fortification: Damage reduction, Power Damage, Recharge Speed
That will give you only a -40% cooldown penalty, but also add +60% power damage (+30% from both Tech Armor and Fortification) and still give you some decent damage protection.

EDIT: Holy crap! So I took your advice and chose Fortification instead of Defense Matrix and I got better results in both recharge speed cooldowns and damage reduction!
Before with DM:
Damage Reduction: 75% (25% from DM, 50% from Tech Armor) *I could of had 30% from DM but chose the 100% sheild recharge when purging DM.
Recharge Speed: -110% (-60% from DM, -50% from TA) plus with my weapon loadout (cooldown of +108%), I had a net worth of +8% bonus recharge cooldown (this does not include armor/other bonuses I had found).
Now with Fort:
Damage Reduction: 80% (40% from Fort, 40% from TA) *Could have been 90%, but chose the Power recharge evo (6) on TA
Recharge Speed: -70% (-50% from Fort, -20% from TA) plus my new loadout of weapons (got Reager X now) loadout which is +145% cooldown, gives me a net of +75% bonus recharge cooldown (again excluding armor and bonus upgrades).
Thanks man! This loadout for my sentinel is a beast!!

I have noticed that Tech Armor and Fortification gained more damage reduction. It was mentioned in this thread that both Tech Armor and Fortification were changed, but only the base cooldown penalty and power damage bonuses at rank 5 were mentioned.rumination888 wrote...
Didn't see this posted anywhere, but Tech Armor and Fortification also gained 10% more damage reduction. You can now have a combined 90% passive damage reduction, plus another 20% after killing an enemy with a heavy melee.
....theres a cap on damage reduction, right?
As far as I know, there is no cap on Damage Reduction, although I could be wrong*. However, the formula for damage reduction is such that you actually need over 100% damage reduction to take no damage (I think it somewhere in the range of 130-140% or so?). I believe there is also either a damage reduction bonus when docked into cover or a damage reduction penalty when out of cover, so when you are in cover you actually receive the full damage reduction bonus as listed.
* In multiplayer, Shield Boost gives you damage reduction but you are capped at 90% from all sources. Not sure if this applies only to Shield Boost or if it applies to all damage reduction powers.

There is no cap on how much DR you can stack.
In cover DR is sort of like 40%. But supposedly the way the mechanic is that enemy damage is actually multiplied by 1.4 if you aren't in cover. Which can explain why you need more than 100% DR stacked to mitigate all damage out of cover.
Batarian Vanguard in MP is one character that easily exceeds 140 DR in certain cases and can be immune for a short time.
Just tested this in single player. Took a Sentinel with max damage reduction on Tech Armor and Barrier (no credits to respec to Fortification), and took the rank 6 melee mastery evolution of Fitness. I killed a Cerberus Trooper with a heavy melee and then took cover in full view of a Turret, a couple of Centurians, a Trooper, and an engineer. Took no damage.
Hilarious to see Shepard crouched into cover while everyone was trying to melee him to death and that shield bar stay blue for a couple dozen seconds.
I will record it next time I get the chance.
