My problem with EDI is that I think she was just made to be a sexual object rather than adding a squadmate.
This is just my opinion, of course.
I have no problem with Ash's new look or Liara's new character model. I prefer attractive females. As a straight guy, I think that's natural. I don't thumb my nose at characters if they're not good-looking, but I prefer to look at things I find attractive. Anyone who claims otherwise is pretty much lying to themselves and others.
Yea, of course, but you can still display attractive characters without exploiting them - these are two different things. The line between those two might sometimes be blurry, but still.
To put it really bluntly: to me - and many others - a badass woman in full platemail is just much more attractive than some chick in the proverbial chainmail bikini.

This isn't Jersey Shore. Or, at least I thought it wasn't.
I know we're not supposed to continually repost pictures but in this case there is a purpose. What steams me about Ashley is that she looked more feminine in ME1 and ME2 than she does in ME3. If they wanted to glam her up a little more they could have just put a little eye shadow on her, but they didn't they gave her a more masculine brow and jaw line. Compare the two. And they put her in that ridiculous outfit. Whose idea was that?
And echoing another person's complaint about black males, what they did to Jacob. Why did Jacob have to be the one to cheat? And he gets Bryn pregnant! Now, we get a negative racial stereotype going. What have they been doing? Watching Jerry Springer?
And Anderson got the shaft on dialogue having about half of his best scene cut because it upstaged Starbrat. WTF? Keith David was totally wasted in this game. Yes I know, the extended dialogue talks about stuff that could be "not canon", but you know there are these things called "instant families" these days where a couple marries and suddenly step children and they're loved like they are the person's own depending upon. The extended scene was so much better.
Someone needs to make a texture mod that allows EDI to be put into a black N7 jumpsuit for being on the Normandy and on the Citadel.

Are you kidding? There were threads of epic proportions.
Also, to me, her body change is nothing compared to what they did to her face.

You also have to note that the first one is actually already in her armor while the others are casual clothes.FIN-Olmi wrote...

Shepard died. The Illusive Man obviously paid for breast enhancement for Shepard as one of those few "upgrades" she mentions on their first meeting. Gardiner's food kept her with a bit of tummy fat, but those six months in the slammer she probably couldn't stand the food and lost about 10 pounds. Anderson commented that anorexic Shepard got soft around the middle but if you notice her tummy actually became sunken and her rib cage started to show. This accentuate the breast augmentation that The Illusive Man had Miranda install.
Apparently The Illusive Man's reconstruction had Miranda install some ass enhancement as well. Miranda's work was thorough and she didn't want Shepard to feel left out, but some things take time to actually work apparently. I'm surprised Miranda didn't mention this stuff in their meeting.

To be fair, that model change could be written off as femshep getting her hands on better bras. They don't look bigger so much as better supported, with a little lift and shaping. Not to mention the ME3 female model's posture is noticably improved (femshep's perpetual slouch in ME1/2 was always one of my bigger peeves).FIN-Olmi wrote...

Ashley's chesticles are clearly larger by two or three cup sizes no matter how you cut the cake.

What people find attractive is highly subjective. If you don't have a problem with Ash and Liara's boobjobs, good for you, but don't ****ing come telling other guys that if they didn't liked changes made to models they are lying.
There are different tastes and I and my brother for example, found things like Samara's cleavage and Miranda's booty shot in ME2 embarassingly naive and same goes for EDI's body and certain other things in ME3.

I think the Mass Effect team did an excellent job of making a mature game, with the exception of a few gratuitous scenes. ie. Miranda's ass on the citadel in ME3

To be fair, the original Shepard model was kinda ugly... in technical terms. With a generic face on top.

I've never found Mass Effect to be overly sexualized. There are plenty of other games where skimpily-clad women have two melons, each bigger than her head, that the game developers found every opportunity to make them bounce around for our "enjoyment".

My Hawke was completely heartbroken that she rejected him, and still helped her with her future new husband.

You see, I'm a straight guy as well, and I too prefer to look at, urm, "things" (persons maybe?) I find attractive - I've never been denying that. I also consider ME1 Ash to be one of the most attractive female characters I've seen in videogames, and thought that every single visual change about her in ME3 did nothing but reduce her appeal. Riddle me that...

Eva's AI must have been way more advanced than EDI to pull that off. It's not the body that is a problem here.Arcian wrote...

PPS: I don't mind EDI's body that much. It's corny and cliche, but it looks pretty good. What ruins it for me is the highly visible ****** and all the stupid sex jokes (why does a robot even need a vagina seriously). Stuff like that really detracts from an otherwise strong, fascinating, and funny character, you know?
Am I supposed to believe that EVAbot can convincingly fake a human being to the point were a vagina might come handy?
What the hell? She's naked and has ******. She needs them for .... *handwave* infiltration.
Who believes this nonsense?
I'm sure EDI was designed to be hawt way before anyone came up with the almost lore-breaking rationalization. And EDI is not even female to begin with.

I've seen a lot of threads complaining about the EDIs body,or Ashley "Mirandification".Sincerly i don't understand why you should hate them, having a sexy character is always a good think, because characters became more attractive. What do you think?
Because Ashley is a retcon and EDI is an obvious case of trying too hard.

There are breasts of all sizes in ME3, while everyone's breasts were small in ME1, except Benezia. The latter seems more unfair to me. Why can't I complain about the lack of large breasts in ME1?
