EDI and Ashley were made sexy for fan service, flying in the face of prior characterization and logic.

Miranda was, as well as other ME characters, entirely ridiculous in combat with her 6 inch combat heels and NO armor whatsoever (until the appearance pack which made yet bearable to me)
So by you logic a nonsense female marine would never want to look attractive?
So or fashion sense is not aloud to change, people do not stay the same and she does still wear heavy armor while in battle.

But she is not performing anything when we see her in skin tight clothes shes on her free time , when you take her on a mission she wears armour just like everyone else when in battle.
She has larger breasts. Given the nature that those don't spontaneously grow, she had a boob job. And that is something that would prohibit performing her duties. Of course, that's only an in-universe explanation. The designers wanted more people to like how she looked, so they gave her larger breasts. Really, would anybody have complained if she just let her hair down and stopped at that?

a marine on duty on the Normandy DOES NOT wear sexy outfits. She should have been in goddamn uniform like every other marine there. Miranda is more acceptable than ash in that department because as of the latest app pack she wears her sexy outfits in the ship (she is not a soldier, she is Cerberus) and full blown Cerberus heavy assault armor in combat.DinoSteve wrote...

She was introduced sexy, and stayed sexy. Thats fine.

Miranda being sexy was also perfectly explained in the game; she was genetically engineered to be perfect.
As for the Ashley remake.. well everyone hated Ashley anyways. Guess Bioware thought they had to do something.
Basically, games, television and even books are always gonna portray heroes and protagonists as idealized compared to ordinary people, so complaining about attractive and sexy characters is pretty futile.
What's worth complaining about though is lack of realism that breaks immersion, such as characters not wearing armor when going off to bloody wars and hostile environments.

I've seen a lot of threads complaining about the EDIs body,or Ashley "Mirandification".Sincerly i don't understand why you should hate them, having a sexy character is always a good think, because characters became more attractive. What do you think?
I don't have problem with that...i wish i would look much more sexier than i am now

It hurts even more when you compare them side by side like that. I think I will kill her with a nuke next time - she is better off dying a hero.CynicalShep wrote...

Miranda and Jack are fine, it is part of their character that they look how they look. However, Ashley and EDI weren't necessary. I mean, Ashley was beautiful in ME1, too, it wasn't necessary to change her appearance into a generic female character. As for EDI, I like the character and hate the sexbot ( I don't even find it attractive), I want to have the option to not let her have that body and simply stay the ship.

Exactly
-badass soldier
-beautiful
-caring, especially for her family
-religious and stands for it
-a bit renegade pro-human without being actually racist
-has the guts to stand up before anyone (even The Shepard), however
-never forgets what her loyalties are
If the Ashley character would have developed as well as Liara, she'd probably be my canon Shepard's LI.

Examples for "not appropriate":
(1) When characters have sexed-up outfits at the expense of protection in combat or in hostile environments. The worst example is Jack in ME2.
(2) When attention is drawn to the sexiness in a way that's insulting to the character (Miranda and the ass shots in ME2. That was so blatant it wasn't even funny)
(3) When sex is a topic where it's completely ludicrous (between Joker and EDI).
What it comes down to: I expect characters to dress for the occasion.

Those armor complaints could of been easily avoided if Bioware added armor to each character while in combat situations or space, while still keeping it unique (Miranda's DLC armor for example, or Jack with some scarred up graffiti light armor would of been epic), but I guess it wasn't a priority at the time.

Just because she's on the Normandy does not mean she's on duty, if it did it would mean that, she should get court martialed for dereliction of duty when she gets so drunk that she can't stand with the hangover.crimzontearz wrote...

So yeah, there’s nothing wrong with sexy characters... but when almost all the females seem to be ready for a catwalk while male ones dress like soldiers ....well, it’s obvious what kind of people this game targets.
