Why don't people like sexy character?

If people think this game has over-the-top female figures/designs, I'd love to see their reactions to other fantasy mmo's, especially asian ones. Terra, anyone?

I'll be devil's advocate here (though I agree with you): How do you know Ash's personality change and putting boobs on a computer (EDI) was less to "sex-up" the characters and more so that BW just ran out of interesting ideas for those characters? By completely changing the characters, they opened up new story-line possibilities. (though an unusually large chest still can't be explained).
How can they run out of ideas, they could have written 1000 different ideas for Ashley and still stayed in character. Same for EDI.

It's possible to do one with the other when handled discreetly, but it's equally as possible to do one without the other.

Oh yeah, and nobody complained about Jacob, he wore similar outfit that Miranda did. But that's natural as men and women both objectify women only.

Well I have to admit I probably subconsciously look more at women but still ...
The game didn't have Jacob leaning over as obviously did it?
Actually I did catch myself thinking that it was a bit silly outfit... -..-
I didn't have problems with either of the outfits, personaly. I thought: "Hey if I had a great body, I'd propably wear something to show off too." or something.
And I don't recall any buttshots of him at close range of camera... but as I said even if there was some, people wouldn't have probably lifted sucha ruckuss over it as with Miranda.

Eg. a romance scene.
In battle or talking and so on... There it's just a immersion ruining.
EDIT: Though if I remember correctly you could argue that some of the ... camera angles were for a conversation that was turning romantic offcourse...
PS: Tight is overrated... for me atleast... It itches!

Highheels? No. Men don't wear them. Wouldn't think women would find a guy sexy who wears high heels anyhows. But then again, high heels were worn by men first if I recall right... so you might be onto something here!
But similar material to Miranda's white ouftit. Yes.

Ashley on the other hand made no sense at all.
It's not the fact that people are against sexualised characters it's that the development of certain squadmates (mainly Ashley comes to my mind instantly) in a direction that logically just makes no sense at all. It's like Jacob suddenly being a white guy in Mass Effect 3. Sense make'th not none.

For others, it is a bit sexist in that it objectifies women.
Another argument could be made from a "military" standpoint.
1) No military would have "sexy BDUs"
2) Ashley's hair would probably not be considered w/in regulation.
It takes away a sense of believability.

Nah, just latex. If he wore heels he would lose most of his sex-appeal with the straight female gamers.

To be fair, it depends on the infiltration method. It is reinforced by historical people, after all.Steelcan wrote...
Anybody else roll their eyes when EDI talked to Legion about her body. Wouldn't it be more sensible for an infiltration unit to avoid attention. Not poking out eyes with massive breats

Or at least, they should...

Well he does. Go and see pictures of athletic men, they have really minimal hips. Their bodies literaly go like "Y".
OFCOURSE, there are exceptions but there are a lot of men who have these minimal hips.

It's funny, I consider a guy wearing something like this is more "eew" than any kind of "sexy".

On the topic of EDI, wouldn't it be easier to blend in if you didn't have striking features that left an impression? I play a game where "bland" is listed as an advantage because people are less likely to notice or remember you.
Well normally that would be the case and you would probably pick people like that. You don't want to sacrifice people and they can't be "tailor made".
If you can build a robot however... It opens up other options. Like disposability and tailoring it to specific assignments.
