Oh my, and here I was thinking that another trash thread of mine will go unnoticed.

Ok, so maybe canonise Destroy for the Greater Lulz.

Canon in a multi-choice game is simply a hilarious concept.

True, but they will have to pick a fixed starting point for logistical reasons

Actually they don't. Everyone presumes that the next Mass Effect will be a linear progression of the existing game when, honestly, it doesn't. It could very well be a different story from the same time line or a different story altogether. If I'm not mistaken something to that effect has been said.

Still, this is such the wrong forum for this discussion I suspect it'll be locked before long.

Sure. I may have chosen peace but I do not like Geth at all.

Actually, they should canonize the destruction of the Quarians. Nobody likes 'em.

This is probably in the wrong forum, but points for asking a good question on a Monday. : )

The Geth are too interesting a proposition in both the Single and Multi-player aspects to be Destroyed out of hand. In the SP mode, there is NO assurance that Destroy affects machine intelligences which are currently deactivated or outside of the galaxy. With that race's inherent agelessness, exploration of other galaxies (!) or the Deep Black between them isn't out of the question. Imagine how pissed a contingent of Geth would be when they return from an exploration tour outside of the galaxy only to discover that their entire species was eradicated a few centuries before... In terms of MP, the Geth Soldier w/ his inherent ability to Kill It With Fire whilst being thoroughly Fortified is too awesome to get rid of.

I'm totally OK with Bioware piecing together some sort of canon ending for ME sequels which take place in a future time. The truth is, they've wisely left themselves a lot of wiggle room with any ending.

Yes. They've already sideways screwed Legion. ****** on the rest of the Geth. Destroy them all.

Legion was actually the only reason why I thought more than a second on the choice :(

What choices you make in SP should affect what characters you have available in MP.

I know we're almost a year out from release, but I thought SP spoilers were verboten on the MP forum.

Only to make the ME3 ending completely and utterly meaningless. I would rather not.
Or... are you a troll?

You mean it wasn't rendered meaningless already?

It is totally possible to retcon only Reapers getting the boom-boom. And what about Geth that had transferred into Quairan suits? You can't kaboom software. The end of ME3 is going to be the biggest plot hole on the way to ME4 you could imagine. Expect furious retcons.

I want ALL the endings to get canonised!

So you want Mass Effect 4 to be like Deus Ex: Invisible War?

I do too, but I don't think it's quite as popular as the film they made right before it.

honestly, I just wanted some people to see that I'm a pretty cool guy who likes Hot Fuzz and Cornetto ice-cream. But what's the other movie? Because "the Greater Good" is associated in my mind with two things:

- Hot Fuzz
- Tau

is there a third thing?

No, but the movie they made before Hot Fuzz was Shaun of the Dead, which was more popular at the time. I thought Hot Fuzz was the better movie tbh.
