Why do people hate playing against Geth?

I actually like playing Geth. Of course, I also like playing as an engineer character, which have powers that do better against Geth. Yes, Primes are no fun, and bombers troll pretty hard (especially if they're one of the targets on the 4 target waves, they keep running away and kill a solo attempt on wave 10 because the timer ran out), but every faction has at least 1-2 units that cause teeth gnashing and mumbled/shouted profanity.
So is this really a preference issue? Am I missing something by not having tried them at higher difficulties (mostly Bronze and Silver, because I'm not that great)?

Stunlock is worse on higher difficulties, yes.

In 4 player games where people are actually playing to win they are not that bad. That annoying hunter stunlocking you will probably be killed by a teammate or that prime coming your way may get distracted and his turrets/drones will get killed by a friend. When its just you, they're all coming your way.

I *hate* fighting the geth. Perma-stun lock is no way to play. Bronze and silver, are, well, bronze and silver.
Try them on gold or platinum where the primes are out in force and dropping you & your team with cross-map perfectly aimed cannon shots, drones and bombers stunning from miles away, rocket troopers drilling three fast shots to your face,
ugh.
If just *one* less part of the faction had the ability to stun, it would make it much more enjoyable to play.
Just my humble opinion

People like to play the game, not watch helplessly as their character flails about, entirely unable to respond.

Pick your best character/weapons and have three of your friends do the same. Play Geth/Platinum through wave 2 then get back to us, if you don't slit your wrists during the game.
Are there primes on every wave in Geth/Platinum? If so, LOL!

There are three on wave two active at once. It's not the Primes, it's their Fing drones. You can usually time the Prime shots and move without getting hit. The drone neutralizes movement altogether and can hit you around corners where you usually have RHA. Add to the fact the turrets appearing behind you that do insane damage in a short period of time. And the stunlock, oh the stunlock.N7Dropout1 wrote...

Case in point: playing Gold with friends last night. Got Hazard Ghost/Geth. My friend gets taken down by a Hunter. I run over and try to kill the Hunter quickly so that I can revive my friend. I quickly get taken down both by the Hunter I was shooting and a second one who'd crept up behind me, basically stunlocking me to the point of nothing to do but die.
My friend had to waste a medigel when it became obvious my rescue attempt had failed miserably. I ragegelled and then immediately ragerocketed. One missile for just two Hunters. Completely justified. Bastards.

And then when you finally die, gelling only to be stunlocked to death before regaining control of your character.Das Rouse wrote...
Stunlock on higher difficulties can sometimes be like an instakill, except slow and aggravating. Imagine getting stunned so much that you cannot move at all. It is torture, that's what it is.
4 times. In a row.
