Honest question, not tryint to troll or start a flamewar. And of course realizing that everyone has their own opinions and are entitled to them...

I actually like playing Geth. Of course, I also like playing as an engineer character, which have powers that do better against Geth. Yes, Primes are no fun, and bombers troll pretty hard (especially if they're one of the targets on the 4 target waves, they keep running away and kill a solo attempt on wave 10 because the timer ran out), but every faction has at least 1-2 units that cause teeth gnashing and mumbled/shouted profanity.

So is this really a preference issue? Am I missing something by not having tried them at higher difficulties (mostly Bronze and Silver, because I'm not that great)?

Because to survive against Geth you have to be a Krogan Vanguard. It honestly gets tedious after a while.

Yes, you are missing something. When I still played bronze/silver mostly, I didn't understand what people hated about stunlock so much - in fact, I would argue that on bronze, the geth are the easiest faction. (Interestingly, I just noticed I think geth are easiest on bronze, collectors on silver, reapers on gold, and cerberus on platinum. Anyway.)

Our hatred for geth has nothing to do with their difficulty, though - it has to do with the annoyance. When my friends and I get geth in our unknown games, we don't have trouble finishing, we just have this problem where each of us, one wave or another, suddenly go from 5 rockets to 0.

There are some big differences between bronze/silver and gold/platinum.

The RoF on a geth hunter, for example, increases - so that if he lands his first shot (which he can do from across the map as an autorelease after being crowd controlled, trololol) he can land his second point blank before you've had a chance to dodge out of the way.

The spawn rate for prime turrets and drones might as well not be there since the cooldown activates when he throws the first one (curiously, the turret is the same gun a geth trooper uses, except it doesn't have to go around walls).

The shorter shield gating makes it impossible to survive a geth prime volley (which he can hit you with through the tiniest cracks in the wall and around corners) if there are troopers around.

And I noticed that I only ever got double tapped rockets from rocket troopers before gold. Get to gold and, well, nothing like going down at the start of the wave because they spawned in the next room and fired 3 rockets (each) at you before you even get all the way around the corner.

The majority of people who don't see the problem with geth either or both: play lower difficulties, or play stun resistant characters. I can't think of a single one I enjoy playing - none of the batarians, krogan, or the destroyer make it onto my commonly played kits list.

Just did my first Geth Platinum and if you can see a Prime, that means you're already dead.

Their stun can be irritating but I still prefer fighting Geth over Collectors.
