Ok, I've gone through a play through of this now and REALLY liked the game. However, there is one thing that immensely bothered me at various parts of the game.
The travel drove me insane. I understand that this really isn't supposed to be the open world type of game that MMO's are, and I wouldn't want it to be. What I don't like though, is that you can't jump over the two foot tall rock separating you from the top of a hill for an amazing archer or mage position. I don't really want the entire world connected because I rather enjoyed the feeling of seclusion from area to area as there would have been in that kind of setting. All I want is for the maps that were already created to be open. I want to fully explore the amazing areas created for this game; not just grudgingly pass by the amazing overlook of my next battlefield.
There is the snippet on one of the loading screens recommending you to flank your enemies because nobody will remember how epic your failed frontal assault looked but because I can't get everywhere in the map, I can't use many of the tactics I would implement. This is not the case of all of the areas, but pretty much the outdoor woodsy type areas (Korcari Wilds, and Brecilian Forest).
AMAZING game, but.... one suggestion.

This would lead into the problems that Oblivion had. In Oblivion you were able to win any fight by just jumping on a rock or table and then you were untouchable. Of course they could make the AI to follow you, then it wouldn't be a problem, but I have no idea how that could be done effectively.
I honestly don't want jumping into the game, or at least I never missed jumping while playing DA:O.

I never missed jumping since I played this game as I would have BG II, but I understand your gripe with it. Glad you like the game though, hope you make more characters to come

pathing issues have a lot to do with it, as well as line of sight. the tactics are more about rock-paper-scissors among the creatures than anything like terrain or position, so i agree with you on that.

Actually just started my second play through today. Dwarf Commoner Rogue that does whatever he sees best to accomplish his goals. Also downloaded the DLC that came with the game when I bought it (purposely didn't use it the first play through) and bought Warden's Keep to make the second run more interesting.
