Shep would have to be super human to overcome the needs based idea of worring about 'rights' as stumbling around the catalyst lair listening to the dirge of space battles just out side. Give a human the power and they'll use it. It's hereditary, in their genes..evolutionary.. Made In Nature.

It's what they do.

You're trying to say that it's impossible for Shepard to choose Destroy, even though he can choose Destroy, and even though it's by far the most popular ending (meaning most Shepards did pick it)?

That's like trying to argue Liara isn't a squadmate in ME3.

We're not talking about popular opinion, we're attempting synthesis, or the rationality of it, opposed to other beliefs opposed to game facts'n lore. Oh wait, we're to ingnore those..sorry.. my bad.

IF you cannot trust the catalyst statements about the choices, then you cannot trust the catalyst and must choose refuse.

no, cannot even trust it to permit refuse..

Of course the Reapers can be rebuilt, at least sometime when we have sufficient technology to do that. Anything can happen.

I can't moderate the thread, obviously. But I can politely suggest that everyone stop talking to Wayning_Star in the hopes that maybe he'll stop dragging my thread down into the muck with his feeble false equivalences and error-laden logorrhea.

Synthesis supposedly solves the supposed problem of organic and synthetic conflict, but what's to stop magical synthesis hybrid people creating brand new pure synthetics that will kill everyone?

don't know, we didn't know levi created the mess to start with either tho, didn't change the outcome.

Players just want to win the boss fight in a normal fashion. I don't blame'm I just say it not possible, the game is just too complicated to war off...thats all.

Destroy folks needs to consider that. maybe..lol

So, in short, it doesn't solve the problem.

It mysteriously makes POO (Plain Old Organics) an impossibility. Similarly with synthetics.

Apparently.

This just shows that you have absolutely no idea what's going on in the Synthesis ending. I guess it was a bit of a head-scratcher for you. No, I'm not going to explain it again, I've done so too many times already. Those who understand what's happening there (both metephorically and literally) will get it, and those who don't will be in the dark and make silly assumptions.

Let me just stop you right there, Auld. Why do you feel compelled to open your posts with an insult? It's never that someone has a reasoned, principled disagreement with whatever your stance is; you consistently argue that others are simply too stupid to grasp what you're trying to say. Why is that?

Plus, your post comes over as a thing riddled with paranoia as a basis for genocide apologism (Destroy support). I'm sorry, but I don't support rampant paranoia (a tool of luddites if ever there was one) as a basis for an argument. That kind of reminds me of how luddites argued that router radiation would cook brains and whatnot. Same kind of nonsense. And I'm tired of that, really.

There it is again. Genocide apologist. Luddite. Leading with insults. And weren't you the one arguing against Destroy on the basis that some "unknown parties" out there in the galaxy will pose a threat if the Reapers aren't around to stop it? Who's being paranoid?

I know this is aimed at me. And I'm kind of flattered that I've made you think enough that you feel so defensive that you have to write a thread trying to apologise for your genocidal tendencies. But I'm sorry, you're still a genocide-fetishist and a luddite. You're not my kind of person. And I'm not going to be diplomatic about it, either. I'm tired of trying to be diplomatic with anyone who thinks that genocide is ever a good idea.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, then. You've contributed nothing to the discussion.

Auld Wolf's self importance is just draining to read. His contribution to the BSN is is going on his self-absorbed speal about Transhumanism, all the while trying to insult other people's intelligence by ridiculing their opinion.

As for the topic on hand, yeah Synthesis is a complete joke. It could've worked if it was built up properly. But it came out of nowhere, was executed poorly, and we had little understanding of it. It's really odd that Bioware views this as the best ending, when it should really be the first ending you get before Control. Destroy should be the ending the requires the most EMS. With Synthesis, it's like reaching a compromise with your enemy.

Cause it's the gentleman thing to do.

Although i would like to feel that everyone that took part in the Final Battle was important, but again Shepard did all the work and we barely saw our allied forces go to work. So....yea...

So, in short, it doesn't solve the problem.

it stops the reapers, ends the cycle, frees the harvested and probably stops the killing.

as stated earilier, it may even limit the comback of the Levi, as it dampens their ability to enthrall, obviously.

What happens RIGHT NOW is what I'm concerning myself with. Future generations will probably breed out synthesis in any event. Like I said, it's just  a 'tweek' not eternal..like nature and hopefully organics..such as, say humans..

Okay, then don't pick it. People who are fine with Synthesis, let them be, as everyone who likes Destroy, Control, Reject, whatever - each their own... as it should be on these discussions. Trying to change someone's mindset on these endings won't usually work because most are likely set in stone on their decision.

So what's stopping these fancy new synthesis people from building new, non-synthesized Reapers that will start killing everyone all over again?

Subjective.  I've seen some very reasonable pro-refuse people and I have nothing against it.  I'll still pick Destroy, but I understand why certain Shepards wouldn't choose any.

Nothings, that's the point of headcannon.  I personally believe Synthesis just makes better killers, but hey - what floats your diana allers.
