Hey all,

I was thinking that this forum should be due for a nice little FAQ to try and resolve some of the more common things that come up here.

So please post what you think should be covered in an FAQ and what you believe the answer should be.

So for example:
How to get commendation packs from a weekend challenge, when they aren't granted.
When do challenges start
What the different DLCs are and what they add etc.

All in all it is meant to be a more general faq than indepth. Similar to what was made back when retaliation was created for the challenge system and hazard maps.

Unhelpful comments will be removed, so please keep it on topic to try and build this thing up.

You could talk about as Ginsupup said, reload canceling, the differences between difficulties, weight and how it affects powers, how there is more than one build for a character, the different DLC's and what was added. You could also add a link to the forum post about ban-able offenses and punishments.

On a side note, did we really get that many Christmas noobs to mandate a FAQ at this stage of the MP?

To answer your side note, it is more to remove redudant threads that continously come up.

OP, BroJo, Mr. Johnson,

A common thread exists, over and over, on which "pack" to get for a specific purpose. Lots of rumor and bad math skills populate most of those threads. How about you creating a qualitative (not quantitative) answer to add to the FAQs?

To wit:

PSP -- true/false it is the best pack for your chances at a UR weapon

AP -- true/false it is the best pack for your chances at a Rare weapon

RP -- true/false it is the best pack for your chances at a Rare character

SP, PSP, AP, RP -- true/false all these packs have a chance at Rare weapons and Rare characters as well as a chance at URs

Reword the statements as desired to make them true.

Lots and lots of conjecture. Not asking for percentages (quantitative), but for overall what's best (qualitative) type of information. This would get rid of a lot of duplicate threads on this topic.

Also, a confirmation that the packs are not bugged, but working as intended. This is not trying to be snarky, just trying to put to rest the ad nauseum conjecture.

I have my own opinions, but they are just that, opinions and worth what most opinions are worth. Your answers would be of real value.

We will not be commenting on specifics of packs

First and Foremost; links to peddro's "game mechanics thread" and links to Cyonan's threads w/ accompanying spreadsheets.

Secondly, Crimson's Build Hub, which I'm sure has been linked already. A good place to start for people searching for a build for their newly unlocked character.

Thirdly: a direct link to Eric Fagnan's post in the "Gameplay Mechanics" sub forum detailing what powers / weapons have what modifiers versus which defence types.

Fourth; how to report cheaters, and what offences warrant reporting a player for.

Fifth: Weekend Operations: Completing them, redeeming your pack and troubleshooting (this has been mentioned already)

Organizationally, that's a great way to start.  For the first section, there are also the toolmaker threads: tywh, narida and creakazoid all come to mind for weapons, builds, and ping/manifest utilities respectively.

A section on 'clever use of game mechanics' and on mods that are not outright proscribed by Bioware would be very helpful. Reload cancelling, pizza running, FoV and omni-button adjustments fall into that category.

Brian, what would be most helpful to you in terms of links and formatting?  Are you going to create a master FAQ on top of the post or rely on members posts below?

Ideally a bunch of threads is the best bet but if the information was bit sized then directly messaged is fine, and it will actually probably go up on the blog.

Ie the online pass issue would be a single bit of info, whereas if the build hub was to be included a link would be from there.

Some of these questions/answers are far to narrow in the scope that we are looking to create.
