*I've heard that the Proximity Mine gets the bonus from the minute it's laid. For the Remote Mine, you must be cloaked when the explosion occurs for the bonus.
Question: Is the Phase Disruptor considered Biotic or Tech?
Question: In Fortification, what does "Purge" mean?
Answer: It means turn off fortification. There is no graphical different, though the bonus is applied.
Question: If grenades benefit from passive Power increases, when I use different kinds of grenades do I need to use Biotic equipment (for Lift or Cluster) or can normal Tech/Power equipment work (Inferno, Frag, Sticky, Homing, Arc)?
If anything I'd love a database in game of things like Biotic Combos, detailed weapon abilities (actual numbers for damage, weight, etc, armor pierce innate ability, etc) but that won't happen.

Secondly, Crimson's Build Hub, which I'm sure has been linked already. A good place to start for people searching for a build for their newly unlocked character.
Thirdly: a direct link to Eric Fagnan's post in the "Gameplay Mechanics" sub forum detailing what powers / weapons have what modifiers versus which defence types.
Fourth; how to report cheaters, and what offences warrant reporting a player for.
Fifth: Weekend Operations: Completing them, redeeming your pack and troubleshooting (this has been mentioned already)
EDIT: Added Lord Narida's class Builder. How could I forget such an important thing?!

Answer: No. There is no information about a new DLC. As far as EVERYONE (who is not a Bioware employee) knows, there is not a new MP DLC planned for the future. Be patient. When an announcement about DLC is being made it will be stickied at the top by a Bioware representative or you can check out their twitter feed. If you must post about your speculation: post in one of the many threads already created on this topic.

A small list with all abbreviations (Like PUG, TSol, etc.) could be pretty useful.
Yes a glossary would be very helpful!

Organizationally, that's a great way to start. For the first section, there are also the toolmaker threads: tywh, narida and creakazoid all come to mind for weapons, builds, and ping/manifest utilities respectively.
A section on 'clever use of game mechanics' and on mods that are not outright proscribed by Bioware would be very helpful. Reload cancelling, pizza running, FoV and omni-button adjustments fall into that category.
Brian, what would be most helpful to you in terms of links and formatting? Are you going to create a master FAQ on top of the post or rely on members posts below?

Ideally a bunch of threads is the best bet but if the information was bit sized then directly messaged is fine, and it will actually probably go up on the blog.
Ie the online pass issue would be a single bit of info, whereas if the build hub was to be included a link would be from there.
Some of these questions/answers are far to narrow in the scope that we are looking to create.

-- There's a lot of basic, oft repeated advice for newcomers, about basic preparation and such (IE: Starting on bronze, and building up their common items first).
>Links to fan-made threads about in-depth mechanics, as well as the mechanics clarification topics in the gameplay forum.
>Work-arounds to common bugs, like 6/6/6/6/6 bug, the disappearing credits and XP bug, and the like.
>What are the differences between various versions of the game?
>Why don't patches come more often/why isn't [x issue] fixed?
>What are balance changes, why do they happen and when?
>Why can't some things be fixed with balance changes?
>What effects benefit from which bonuses? (IE: Does Tactical Cloak benefit from Power Damage in the class passive, and similar questions)
Possibly some common issues faced in gameplay:
>I used overload on an enemy just hit by [a sentry turret's flamethrower / an ammo power / cryo blast], and I didn't see a combo explosion, why not?
>I can hear a [power or power combo] happening, but I can't see the visual effects, what's happening?
>Why are my Ops Survival Packs not working? (And other lag and animation timing-related issues).

A: Check to see if you are attempting to play a Gold or Platinum level match. Those difficulty levels are not for novice players with limited equipment. Our N7 forces have been trained to send all new recruits on missions against the Reapers JV squads.

There was a thread awhile back that explained each difficulty. Low level with low level common weapons not intended to be able to beat bronze, for instance. A summary of that would be helpful.

Hey all,
I was thinking that this forum should be due for a nice little FAQ to try and resolve some of the more common things that come up here.
So please post what you think should be covered in an FAQ and what you believe the answer should be.
So for example:
How to get commendation packs from a weekend challenge, when they aren't granted.
When do challenges start
What the different DLCs are and what they add etc.
All in all it is meant to be a more general faq than indepth. Similar to what was made back when retaliation was created for the challenge system and hazard maps.
Unhelpful comments will be removed, so please keep it on topic to try and build this thing up.
I made something like that several months ago. I asked for player input. Builds. Tips and tactics. Was just a bore to do alone since hardly anyone tried to help out.

There are a number of times where I have seen the same Player Known bug reported, but if you guys have determined that it will not be fixed. That signals to us that it is time to move on and worry about something else. Or if there are known workarounds, point to the solution.
(Only one I can think of off the top of my head is PC Text Chat)
Most common recurring themes in Answer HQ are these:
-Online Pass broke.
-MP Connection issues.
-Lost Credits
-Leviathan Ladder.
-Install issues.
-Achievements not showing up.
-Single Player crashes on Earth
-Unable to get [X] Character/Weapon
-iOS Datapad app doesn't really work anymore

A: This could be due to different problems. But one solution I found is to delete your local_profile.sav file located in Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 3/Save OR you could overwrite it with the same file from an older backup save. Then launch Mass Effect 3. When origin sync dialogue pops up, choose to use local content. Caution: Deleting this file will wipe all your single player achievements.
Q: Mass Effect 3 crashes while launching mutiplayer even though I have latest drivers and my firewall settings are correct (PC only).
A: Make sure you are using a stable origin release (so opt out of beta program). Goto ME3 install location, find the file named coalesced.bin. Delete this file. Launch Origin and do a 'Repair Install' on Mass Effect 3. In most cases this should fix the issue.
Q: What are power combos and how do I know which powers to combine?
A: Refer this:ME3 Power Combos - Mass Effect Wiki
Q: I want to play solo, So I create a private lobby. But still my origin friends drops-in mid-game. What do I do?
A: After launching the game, goto Origin Friends list (press Shift+F1). Set your status to 'Invisible'. now your friends won't be able to drop-in.
Q: I am new to multiplayer and I hear peopel talking about things like CC, CD, GI, QMI... what do they mean?
A: Refer this document to know about all the ME3 Multiplayer terminology (thanks to Yuoaman). ME3 Multiplayer Terminology - Google doc. You can see the original BSN thread and discussion here: ME3 Multiplayer Terminology - BSN Thread

A: This is a known bug. You can try to kill it using powers (Incinerate, Warp..). If that doesn't work, tell the host to try and kill him. In most cases, the host will be bale to kill such enemies.
Q: I was playing the game and suddenly my guns and powers stopped working
A: It is known bug. Fortunately the solution is very simple. Do a heavy melee and your guns and powers will be back to normal.
Q: How do I kill a possessed abomination safely:
A: Possessed abominations explod when they die, damaging nearby players. However if you decapitate them, they won't explode. So your best options would be to either:
1. Kill it with a headshot
2. Kill it with a heavy melee that decapitate (shadow, vorcha, batarian..)
3. Allow it to grab you. Then kill it by repeatedly pressing the melee button.
Q: The host quit mid-game and when the game resumed, my ammo powers are lost
A: You DID NOT lose your ammo powers. The powers are still there, you are just not seeing any indication on your gun due to a bug.
