 If they use life energy as power source. Demons shouldn't be able to possess them right??? Because demon possession happens when a mage taps into the fade for energy.

Uh, no, it doesn't work like that. Demons can possess anyone with a connection to the Fade; mages just have stronger connections than anyone else. Even corpses can be possessed, hence why cremation is more common than burial. Only Dwarves and the Tranquil are safe from demonic possession because they lack said connection to the Fade.
