If you've ever stepped into DA's toolset, you'd know that DA is not the kind of game you want "NWNified". Unlike NWN, DA pretty much takes a bioware-quality team of developers to create anything worth playing.

DA was 'NWNified' from its inception - the game's layout was created in NWN, the games developers worked on NWN and even the movement clicking system is identical to NWN. As for the toolkit, clearly you have no idea how intuitive it is - you may want to take a look at some mods already created as well as the featured projects on this site where mods were created within 30 mins or so showing what is possible.

Basically I will say it again - the success of DA will likely guarantee NWN style online play at some point regardless of what they said before.  They know how amazing DM play is when they released NWN and sales means they can dabble again if the wish - it is what keeps a community flourishing the longest - the MP side (see NWN still alive and kicking today).

I remember a while ago, I was playing Runescape (I know, right?) I went to the grand exchange and started selling "magical cabbages" (just regular 2gp cabbages) for 2000+gp xD God, thinking about that makes me hate Mmos >:(

Just wondering if I'm the only one who is going to miss those features -- personally I'd rather have BioWare work on multiplayer/co-op than new adventure expansions right now... but perhaps that's me.

I remember stepping into the modules created by someone, having a storyteller right there running the game for a group of us... it was like a tiny tiny mmo hehe.

So what do you guys think? Is there a demand for this? Is it even possible to do with Dragon Age?

Short answer = no
Long answer = no

Enabling multiplayer would require changing the game engine. Ergo, you won't see it in an expansion, could occur in a sequel.

However, I have to say, personally, I would prioritize improving animations, graphics, performance, and gamephysics over multiplayer. I also would prioritize adding a z-axis/flight, cloaks, horses/mounts, jumping/swimming, and playable wisps over multiplayer.

The last one should be a clue how important multiplayer is to me.

I concur - put me down for enabling MP play sometime after rations and some form of potable liquids are required to be used to keep the party alive and outhouses and/or latrines with designated party potty breaks are implemented as well. Image IPB

I love this game and would recommend anyone who even remotely enjoys RPG's and to get it, however I do not wish for this game to become an mmo such as WOW because I hate WOW and the whole mmo thing with a passion. I think adding 4 player co-op to this game would be a fantastic idea because you would get to play through the game with a few friends and since you can only have four characters in your party at one time it only makes sense to have 4 player co -op. Not to mention how much easier it would be to play because you wouldnt keep having to go into the menu and change all of the characters tactics. You could just say to your friends 'you attack him, while I attack the other one' or anything like that. However good the AI of the other characters may be, it will never be the same as having an actual person controlling the character. Ive died many times simply because the other carachters have not healed themselves, all died and left me to take on army by myself or morrighan has not cast healing spells in time before we die or sometimes characters will just stand there and not attack whilst the get face raped by an axe. My overall point is that this game is an excellent, if not the best single player RPG I have ever played, I just think the addition of co-op into this game would be a very adventageous one.

Personally, I don't think DAO has enough foundation to ever make it as a full MMO. The story line is there, but the game lacks in certain aspects, classes being the first thing to come to my mind at least.  Something about DAO just screams singleplayer to me, and I think to deviate from a singleplayer game to a multiplayer game would be a folly. I'm speaking from the gut on this one, my gut tells me to leave this title alone and let it have it's glory days as a SP rpg.
